Hi guys, happy Monday, at least I wish it were.
I really did love Bo and Nora's romance back then. First off, I thought he was a great accompaniment to Todd as he cracked and got worse and meaner. Bo always had this wish in him that Todd might really just be a "mixed up kid" and you see it a lot after time passes from the Nora attack, of course, not during. I think what really changed Bo's mind about Todd was the whole saving the kids and Marty thing. LOVE THAT STORY. Whoo hoo! Bo seemed to have compassion for Todd at times throughout his stories. Of course, that makes Bo move up a few points in my book.
Powell's rationalizing and taking tips from Elmer the homeless guy. Ok. But he's on the edge of his best work, so I won't be too hard on him. The make up on him was great. He looked a total mess. The story is about to progress into Sean's finest hour, imho. I know everyone loves him as Dark Powell later, but I love him here, when he cracks open for the world, and Marty, to see. I love it when he gives his stuff away to Elmer. Great moment and more to follow. "You're not like the rest of them." Well, I think this was the message that OLTL was trying to get across to us with the whole upcoming scenes cluster - that Powell was above what was done to Marty and wasn't the same as Todd and Zach. In some ways, it may have been like that, but in reality, he was just as guilty and I've always felt more so because he KNEW it was WRONG when he was doing it and could have stopped it or gotten help, etc. These scenes are the beginning of the attempt at redeeming him - but what about Todd? When did TPTB really realize they wanted to keep him?? Was it before this?
It all starts with the phone call to his parents. I love this whole thing. He does an outstanding job of making us feel a little sorry for him. And he plays the guilt to the hilt. Awesome job on Sean's part already and he hasn't even gotten started.
FAIL: Not much, pretty good scenes, just no Todd.
