Clip of the Day, Dec. 3, 2010

Just an FYI, I updated yesterday's clip also. :D

If anyone can watch this clip and not feel something for Sean M's character, they are dead. The desperation, the pain and the way this whole thing unravels, is absolutely perfect. I think it is one of my favorite parts of The Spring Fling aftermath, The Scar storyline, and 1993. Marty just reveals herself as a caring person, and I believe, this is the final step in totally redeeming her character, aside from the rape she endured.

"I have never lied to you Powell." Love it.

A couple of other things I love about this clip: Marty's first reaction to being in the room again with Powell. When he points the gun at her and tells her to stay away. When Marty tells him she knows what he wants to tell her. When Marty tells Powell that she once tried to kill herself, too. Very good part of this story, and works a bit with Powell. He starts to agree with her then....."Whenever you're ready, whatever you want to say!"

Again, have to mention the MAJOR difference in the story compared to where I really am right now in it (I dunno, 5th time through?) during Todd and Tea 1997....of course NOTHING compares to juju's edits, but I have to see something! LOL! Then, I guess, hard to admit, I start again or choose the Paul stuff, or just start watching The Real Todd. guess we will see.

FAIL: Ok....Suede screaming "Marty, Marty" - just makes me want to farty. Cut it OUT!! Ugh, who brought this guy along?

Sound off guys! Miss your input, like we used to do, when we first opened!

  1. Pretty much agree with your whole blog Kim.......Suede has NO PLACE in this scene....it the only bad part of it!!!!! SH and SM are NAILS in this scene. When Marty enters the room......the camera show in great detail "Powell UNLOCKING the door"......which is so symbolic, because he relived the moment of Todd yelling "Powell, LOCK the door" on that night so many times. So it shows him unlocking it....letting Marty in......and then it shows IN DETAIL him LOCKING the door again. Just amazing writing and directing of the show back then. And Marty's reaction when she enters that room again is priceless.....she really does want to throw up with every glance she has but holds it together for another human being that she has no business saving! Great scene.......it is hard not to feel for Powell.....he is SOOOOOOO messed up......but something REALLY twisted in me loves that Todd is the cause of it!!!!! LOL
