Clip of the Day, Jan. 18, 2011
OMG, all I can say is that this part of the clip is the scariest part of ANYTHING he's done. Nora is completely in the "dark" and he's as nasty and as vile as anyone can be. Terrifying. Sometimes, when watching the later scenes, when we are routing for him, we forget why she just can't believe he has changed. This scene definitely reminds me why she's never really on his side ever again. This is why bunny hopping at her wedding makes NO SENSE in ANY SENSE of the word.
HBS does a GREAT JOB here, and so does Roger. I must have written that sentence 10 times already since we started! More of this follows in the next clip or two. Juju, thanks!
FAIL: After all those weeks in the same clothes, I am sure Nora would have SMELLED him when he first was in the room!!!

I have to comment on this! This is one of my favorite Todd videos. I am on the edge of my seat every single time I watch it, even though I've seen it a million times now. Todd is just crazy right here and it's GREAT to watch. And I love his expression at about 2:12 - he just says so much with his face! Love this!
ReplyDeleteSick as it may seem, this is seriously one of my favorite Todd scenes and one of the things I miss most about the character--and RH as Todd. He is scary as hell. THIS Todd scares the bejezzus out of me but I can't look away! He is both repellant and attractive at the same time. I remember when this played in real time wondering how I could like a guy who was so horrible.
ReplyDeleteIn the history of cool Todd lines, these scenes have one of the best, IMO: "But it will be fun." In the stupid words of Rachel Zoe, I die. It's such a perfect, asocial, sociopathic, and Toddian smart ass thing to say. Of course it's horrible, but it would be fun!
And you know, I believed him. I had no doubt at all that this guy would find his reign of terror...fun. Which is part of what made him so perfectly bad. So bad, but so perfect at being bad.
