Todd, Todd, Todd! That's all my brain was doing last night in the midst of trying to decipher info about a Roger Howarth return. Sigh. I am so tired of it and I am fortunate that I can see Todd's story unfold.
Rebecca is feeling guilty for helping Todd. She feels it's her fault in some way, that Powell got clobbered (cue little tweeting birdies flying in a circle around his head.) "I worshipped him." Don't worry Powell, I do also.
Todd's still hiding out in the back of Rachel's car, hearing news about himself on the radio. The torment is about to begin! Wonder, still, if they had decided to keep him yet, or if he was still considered a throw-away frat boy.
FAIL: Not enough Todd. Way too much Powell with the headband.
I believe they had decided to "keep him" indefinitely after the trial had concluded. Originally, the frat boys were just supposed to go to prison and that would be the end of it. RH's popularity made them delay his "end" until they realized they had to make him a permanent cast member. I think they were still in the process of deciding where to go with him long-term in late 93, but sometime in 94 (I'd assume before his Emmy nomination) they had reached that conclusion.
