Warm Hugs for the Holiday (Tuesday's Episode - 12/27/11)

Rex and Gigi were in Texas. She had remembered everything. Then Rex woke up. Was it all just a dream? No, it wasn't. Gig was there. Rex and Gigi had spent the night together. They both agreed it felt like a dream. They hugged warmly.

Evidently it had snowed in Texas and they couldn't get a flight out the night before. They were wondering whether they should call and tell Shane the good news or wait to tell him in person. Just then, Shane called. Rex put him on speaker phone so Gigi could listen. They talked easily about Christmas. Shane said Vicki had felt sorry for him and loaded up on the gifts. He got a drum kit (bet Gigi's going to love that as she recovers from her coma!) And he gets to shadow The Banner artist. (How cool is that?) Rex said, "We'll be on the next flight out." We? Shane wondered. Who's we? Rex stumbled and said, "I meant me." Shane caught him. Me will be on the next flight out? Come on, Dad. But they didn't tell him. When they hung up, Gigi wanted to know what was up with Clint? Rex explained everything about how Clint had gotten what they thought was Gigi's heart and why he had sold it to him and what happened with Jack and Victor. Gigi wondered who Victor was. Rex also told her how he kept seeing her. Gigi commented they she was bossing him around from a coma.

Shane, Clint and Natalie were in the Drawing room at Llanfair. Shane was admiring the story in The Banner that Jack had been arrested. Clint wanted to know where the evidence came from. Even Natalie didn't know. Shane told them what he had done. Clint was proud of him. Clint told him it was very Buchanan of him to do that. He wanted something done and he did it. He told him he knew that Gigi was resting easier now. He wanted Shane to rest easier, too. Shane called him Grandpa and I choked up. It was almost like a warm hug.

Natalie hugged Clint warmly after Shane left the room. She wanted to know what was up with Clint and Vicki making out. Are they back together? Clint tried to get out of it, saying he'd divorced her twice. What made her think they were getting back together? Some people are just meant to be together, she said.

Vimal, Rama and Neela were walking in Angel Square. Rama was excitedly talking about going to New York for New Year's Eve. Vimal, of course, thought that was a bad idea. Neela spotted the paper. Vimal said it was a good thing and laid into her about how he would forbid her to see Jack, anyway. He is, after all, a murderer. Neela protested and said it was an accident, that Jack didn't mean to kill her. Vimal raged on, so Rama sent him on an errand and talked to Neela. Rama will make a good mother if she keeps her good spirit. Neela told her that she was the reason Jack was in jail. Neela went on to say what Jack did was an accident, what she did was deliberate. Rama was most kind and listened and sympathized and tried to explain Vimal's point.

I feel like I missed something. Was there a Manning Family Christmas where Jack got arrested? Seems possible, but I don't remember seeing it.

Todd was at the police station complaining to John about arresting Jack. Todd thought Brad had confessed and the case was closed. But John said there was new evidence. He didn't want Todd paying off someone to get him out. But that was Victor, not Todd. Tea showed up and wanted to know what the new evidence was. Jack confessed to killing Gigi, John said. And Tea and Todd looked at each other, with the same concerned look. John said he had a tape recording. Tea tried that it was an illegal wire tap. It wasn't a police operation, John assured her. It was brought in by a civilian. Tea wanted to make sure it was legit. Todd wanted to know who made it. Jack should know who's accusing him.

Blair was visiting Jack. He finally said he had done it, but it was an accident. Blair was relieved to hear him say it. She hated what Victor had done to cover it up, but deep down she was glad Jack didn't have to go to jail for it. It was important to her that Jack admit it. Did he realize what he had done? Did he have remorse? Jack lit into her. He said the only time she showed interest in him was when he was in trouble. His dad, Victor, was the only one who really cared about him. There was always some Starr drama, or when Sam was kidnapped, or his mom was off with one of the homicidal maniacs she was in love with. Jack said he was always one kid too many. Blair fought back. She told him how lucky he was. She was passed from foster home to foster home (which Jack said with her, knowing it well.) She knew what it was to be one kid too many. His complaint was a cop out. She was always there for him. (Well, Blair, I know you thought you were . . . though I guess we didn't see everything.) I will say again that Jack has had a far better childhood than either of his parents.

Blair interrupted the conversation in John's office as he was talking about a criminal investigation. Tea told Blair it looked bad. John pointed out there wasn't a lot of gray area. But Tea said, it was an accident. He wouldn't be tried as adult and assured Blair she would be there for him. They were family. They should've hugged. Todd stormed out of the office and went to see Jack.

Todd told Jack there was a tape and that someone set him up. Cut to Neela asking, "How will Jack feel when he finds out?" Back to Todd, asking Jack to tell him who set him up and he'd deal with the s.o.b. Todd told Jack that he might not like him, but he needed him. As Todd turned to leave, Jack said, "Thank you." Maybe there is hope for this kid. Todd shrugged in his way and said he was going to get him out. He needed him at The Sun to get him coffee and chicken salad sandwiches.

Jack sat alone in his cell thinking that it couldn't have been Neela. Upstairs John told Tea it was Neela who made the tape. Jack looked up to see Neela waiting to see him.

Todd ran into Blair upstairs at the police station. He promised he would make this right. And they had a lovely, warm hug.

Vimal returned and apologized to Neela. He was worried that he was becoming his father. He was sorry he hadn't listened to her. He just wanted to protect her. They might have hugged. Neela probably could've used it.

Shane was happy when his dad returned and gave him a warm hug. Shane asked his Dad if he was ready for the big news? Rex said he had big news, too. Jack didn't kill Gigi. She's not dead, she's . . . Rex indicated behind Shane. Shane turned slowly around to see Gigi. He was hesitant at first, perhaps not believing his own eyes. Gigi's big eyes were filled with tears. They hugged about as warmly as possible.

And the show ended with full credits and "Hark the Herald Angels Sing." I don't think it was Kassie singing, but I'm not sure who it was. I guess this was the Christmas episode.
