Llanview Sightings - Week of June 25th

Tuesday’s Episode
It was Todd’s first day at the paper.  Actually, he was in Kate’s office, barking orders at the woman sent to assist him.  Changes will be made!  He wanted all that fashion stuff out.  He asked the assistant for a list of the people on the staff.  He was impressed with the assistant who produced the list quickly.  They started to talk about Diane Miller, a best selling author, as well as the paper’s most popular gossip columnist.  The most important job at the paper.

Just then Heather arrived declaring she wanted that position. Todd liked the way the assistant talked back to Heather.  But Heather played her games and Todd called Diane and fired her.  When the assistant pointed out that Todd was likely to get sued for singling out Diane, Todd fired the assistant. She stomped out.

Todd rolled his eyes as Heather went on about how her man had cheated on her.  She talked herself into going to see Luke and turned to leave.  Todd stopped her and said he hired her, he expected her to work.  Every other sentence out of Heather’s mouth is a threat.  She’d better watch what she says because Sam and Spineli were outside the door.

Wednesday’s Episode
Heather continued to taunt Todd about the fact that she had something she could tell, while Sam and Spinelli listened carefully.  Todd said he was her boss and Heather replied that it went way deeper than that.

Heather left and Todd sat alone, looking at the picture of Sam from the paper.  He was told the baby’s family didn’t want him and he just couldn’t take the baby away from Tea.  Even if it meant he had to put up with Heather and her blackmail.

There was a knock at the office door.  Go away, Todd shouted.  But it was Sam.  So he got up to let her in.  Obviously nervous, Todd spouted more of his life.  He rambled on about his rich history with Sam’s and that he was predisposed to like her.  Though he didn’t care for her taste in friends, namely John McBain.

(I try to capture Todd’s words, but it’s just not the same as hearing him deliver them!)

Sam asked him for a job.  Todd wondered why.  She explained that her partner was Jason’s best friend and she wanted a fresh start.  He babbled on again about understanding wanting a fresh start and gave her the job as his assistant.

Thursday’s Episode
Michael and Johnny were listening to Starr sing and gushing about how good she was.  The changes to the Haunted Star were done quickly!  It’s a lot darker now.  After her singing, Michael and Starr were talking. Starr said she was right about Johnny.  Michael said he just wanted her to be happy.  He liked seeing her smile.  She was beautiful when she smiled.  Which made Starr smile even more.
   
When Heather returned to Todd’s office, she was shocked to find Sam there and questioned her.  Sam replied that she was Todd’s assistant.  Heather was certain she was mistaken.  Todd poked his head out of the office and said he had, in fact, hired Sam.

Todd pulled Heather into the office and closed the door.  He quietly told Heather he wanted to make up for what they did to Sam.  Heather was certain Sam was there to spy on them.  Todd wasn’t worried, but Heather kept on, saying Sam was playing him.  Todd remembered the scene with Spinelli outside Todd’s hotel room.  Heather went to the door and opened it and Sam was right there.  She said she was just about to knock, but Heather looked at Todd.  Todd ushered Sam out and told her to go home for the day and come back tomorrow.

When Sam had gone, Heather insisted that Todd fire her.  Todd said he wanted to keep her close.

Friday’s Episode
Was it Sam or Todd remembering Sam saying her baby was taken from her?

John was on a plane, talking to Natalie. She and Liam were off to London.  John reminded her they agreed he had to finish this.  Then Sam called him, feeling low.  They talked for a while and then John looked up to see Jason in the aisle.  The only seat on the plane was with John.  Will they be able to cooperate in getting Joe Jr?
   
Carly came into the office with papers for her new tenant to sign. (I wonder why Carly does all these menial errands and why she doesn't know her new tenant is Todd.)  She was surprised to see Todd.  They got to talking about guilt again.  She told Todd he had complimentary use of the spa.  Todd mumbled he thought she liked him.

When Todd told her he had hired Sam, Carly saw it as symmetry.  That Johnny was helping Starr and Todd  helping Sam.  (I think we’re back on guilt.)  Todd objected that he was not Johnny.  Carly replied that they were both helping others out of the goodness of their hearts.  Not quite, Todd said under his breath.  Todd went on about how he didn’t like Johnny and how he’d never change, no matter how many good things he tried to do.  Carly wondered if Todd was talking about himself.  Everyone has secrets.
