Rape is not new to daytime, but OLTL was one of the few soaps that took this crime seriously by delving into college gang rapes. Bravely, the soap involved a major character, Kevin Buchanan, while the victim, Marty Saybrooke, tested how society often blamed the women for their attacks especially if they were sexually promiscuous. Luckily, this time around, OLTL earned Emmy Awards for best writing for Michael Malone, best younger actor for Roger Howarth (Todd), best supporting actress for Susan Haskill (Marty), and best actress for Hillary B. Smith (Nora)."

While it’s too early to start figuring out which stars will be absorbed by other soaps, don’t expect Roger Howarth to return to One Life in his Emmy-winning role as Todd Manning. “At this point, Roger is planning to move out west,” says a friend close to the star. “I’m not sure he wants to join another show that may be cancelled. It's really interesting Kim! But the star from ATWT who is going to OL as a new character is: Terri Colombino. So I don't think this is good news for us.
ReplyDeleteI disagree, people seem to think that he will eventually come back, and SOC is not retracting, and this is what this thing is in response to.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right. It was the last line that got me " two ex-World Turns stars are joining ABC — one is a recast for AMC and the other is a new character for One Life." If it's only one ATWT star going to OLTL they already hired her. But hopefully the line says that RH is definitely coming back is the true one.

ReplyDeleteOf course I only want RH to come back as Todd. I don't want him to play another character. My point is, is that if the Suds Report was using Carolyn Hinsey as backup that he's returning. Then it is not good backup because OLTL already had Terri Colombino from ATWT listed as a cast member.
ReplyDeleteNo I get your point.....I don't think they were, she spoke out on FB and said he's not, I believe. SON is the only place that keeps saying he is.
