Sheesh!

I am going to post the vids, and let you guys have at it.  So sorry!

GOD! WHAT A BUMMER THAT WAS!!

And, here's a screencap I took during my commentary to explain his beauty:

Clip of the Day, March 7, 2011 (179)

Amazing how in-demand the "good" rapist is...two girls fighting over him? Please.

Powell's "I would never do anything to hurt you" line is one of those moments where you flash back and forward at the same time. It's the same line Todd was using when he was trying to get her to calm down while they were on the run...but it's also a line that Powell would disprove in the future.

"I'm not like them," says Sappy Poet...what is it with Powell and his trying to differentiate himself from anyone else who does something wrong? Course, when Nora, Kevin, and the prison trustee (forgot his name) are constantly giving him pats on the back, it probably boosts his ego. He went from pointing a gun at his head to seeing himself as some sort of saint in the span of a few months.

Rebecca being gullible once again in believing Emily. I think deep down maybe she wanted to believe her, as it would give her a good reason not to be with Pet Poodle and "remain faithful to Todd's memory." LOL...that's what I'm going to say, anyway.

Little Sarah delivers Todd the news he wants to hear, and he's delighted.
Rebecca goes back to reading Cyrano's (Powell the Pure's) poetry and says she wishes someone cared about her like that. Well Rebecca, someone does...he's out in the garden shed.

If only Todd had hurried up and come "back from the dead" before Rebecca figured out Pet Poodle was Cyrano. Alas, it was never going to be that simple. It takes the perfect anti-hero...someone like, oh, I dunno...Zorro...to combat a wimpy, sniveling poet. LOL.

Well, Rebecca's off to find the Poster Boy For Rape Rehab himself. We'll just have to grit our teeth and bear it for a bit.

Fail: Not enough Todd. Too much romance forced into the Rebecca/Powell thing.

The scene before the commercial and the beginning when they come back when Rebecca learns Powell is Cyrano is an example of something that slightly bothers me about the production with some of the "cliff hanger" scenes during this era; for whatever reason, they would use two different takes, and this often led to continuity errors. It doesn't really matter live, as you don't usually notice, but when you watch them back without the commercial and/or other storyline scenes in between, they stick out like a sore thumb. In this instance, we see Rebecca flipping through the pages and then quietly realizing it's Powell. When we get back from commercial break, we see she hadn't just "realized" it was Powell...she saw his name written on the cover of the notebook. Of course, her delivery isn't quite identical to what it was in the take shown before the break...and how could it be? Nobody is going to get two takes to sound exactly the same.

Clip of the Day, March 5. 2011 (177)

Well, the confession/conversation continues.

"He took my place." He reminds me of himself, later, when he thinks Patrick took his place. "I understand her, she understands me."

Powell. Who cares? UGH. Jim. Yuck. Rebecca, finally has a new dress. YAY.

"Jim! Let her go. Now." Oh that's sooooo scary. Blechh. All these guys can take lessons from Todd in how to be....cool? Frightening? Strong? Whatever, they need help.

Here's what gets me about this. "Did Powell talk some sense into that...man?" Uh, POWELL is a RAPIST and you're worried about a few words exchanged between Rebecca and Jim????? Whatever! No one remembers that Rebecca is now dating a convicted rapist. Powell did what Todd did, and Powell's had no therapy, no NOTHING. And as I have said before, he has LESS REASON for how he has acted and his choices. HE KNEW HE WAS WRONG and he did it anyway. Todd's nuts - what's Powell's excuse? I think WE KNOW, but how can Renee act like Powell is the big hero? She encourages Rebecca to go for it? "he's so sweet and gentle...." Yeah, tell that to Marty!

Speaking of her! She's sleeping in her clothes and running toward "the man" in her dreams. Of course, she is convinced it's Suede, and goes to Looney for help. I guess we'll see more of that in the next clip!

FAIL: Jim really sucked. What a terrible actor. Or is it that he stands out against the others? If we put him with OLTL's teens today, he's outshine almost all of them. Powell being a hero also is a FAIL.

Sound off! We need more comments!

Clip of the Day, March 4, 2011 (176)

I am really running late today...so I am going to leave the commentary and comments to you all! Chime in!

My fave thing is the KIDS! They are so cute! They let him know that Powell and Rebecca are together. He gets PISSED.

See you later on this evening!

Clip of the Day, Feb. 24, 2011 (167)

The Masquerade begins.

Wow, the whole group is TERRIBLY DEPRESSED that the dead and mangled man was not Todd! That about sums it up!!

Talk about gorgeous! In all his darkness, he's SO BEAUTIFUL HERE. I must have written that same comment about him at least 167 times already. Heh Heh.

"Leave her alone! Now." HILARIOUS TO ME. I am sorry, but when the camera pans to Powell, and his tucked in shirts, I just want to pee on myself with laughter. He's NOT TOUGH. Please. "Get Lost, Jim." Yeah, you tell 'em Powell. LOL!

Ok and on to that GIGGLY stuff Rebecca gets into whenever she is around Powell. This is excruciating for me - these two dulldrums. You know everyone's thinking how they want Todd to come back and kiss her face off.

FAIL: Rebecca: Get out of my way! uh, just move to the right. Or, move to the left. Step back? There are other directions to go in, Rebecca.

Sound off!

Clip of the Day - Sept. 26, 2010

Today's clip includes Rachel's testimony and the rest of Emily's. Commentary follows below.

Nora rips Emily apart here. She completely falters when Nora sinks her teeth her little air head. LOL.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE when Marty first vocalizes that she made a mistake about something in the trial. I remember how I felt when she said it at first....like she was questioning the whole thing, but knew, as far as soaps go, the big reveal is usually LESS POTENT than you think it is. And there is Peter Manning, in all his glory, laughing with Todd at Emily being "ripped apart" - "her testimony that is."

Kevin: What about Marty?
Todd: What about her? (SO SMUG - the beginnings of a multi-layered, fantastic character)

Rachel is a hostile witness. Poor thing. Loved this actress, have I mentioned that? Hank is really tough with her. Now the LOOK shared between Todd and Kevin during her testimony....priceless. That Todd made "advances" toward Rachel, Kevin's girl. Whooo! Todd's off to a bad start with Kevin from this day on. At one point, Todd almost looks disgusted to hear about himself from Rachel....and when she says he doesn't take no for an answer, I love the buzz in the courtroom and Todd's look. Peter Manning is seething during this. Of course, he created the man that is on trial, but we won't go there right now.

Of course, tune in tomorrow to see the remainder of her testimony and the fallout.

FAIL: Suede's SKINNY tie. Ugh. The expression on pre-Nathan Joey's face before Rachel is called (DUH). Hank, a father, scheming to break his daughter on the stand...eh? Not so great.

Question of the Day - what did you think of Kevin and Rachel's relationship?

Clip of the Day, Sept. 25, 2010

Hi all, time for another COTD. YAY. Cannot wait until we get to another part of this story....where we can really sink our teeth into some good Todd Talk. Commentary follows!

The first thing I really like about this episode is when Jason is telling his story, and Viki is "just a tad" upset about Kevin's attitude toward LeAnne and the baby. When she hears what Kevin did and how Jason handled it, she gets that "look" on her face. I love Erika in this role, this way, as this powerful matriarch, and later, tortured and abused person who is shattered. When I was younger, I used to make fun of her speech (LOL, at tol, etc) but now, I really appreciate her work. She's the only match for Roger's talent on OLTL.

Subtle. That is what OLTL was in some of it's glaring messages. Just subtle. Marty brushing tear away when Jason says how she gave of herself to help him. Viki's look, mentioned above, how Nora approaches the jury to make a point, Marty STARTING to doubt herself about Kevin, etc. Every single details was covered by the actors and by the writers every minute of the stories.

Emily Haynes. First off, this actress, Kellie Waymire, went on to do movies, (including a horror film called "Maniacts"), and died in 2003 of a heart condition. She was one year older than Roger. Anyway, her character has to be one of the most annoying of this storyline. She plays it well of course, but how it's written...I just want to slap her 4/5 of the time.

If Kevin is the head of the frat, why does everyone "do everything Todd tells them to?" Of course, we all know the answer to that!

FAIL: Emily's HAIR. Her style is more suitable for Viki or Renee.
