My goodness, how could Rebecca NOT KNOW before that attempted kiss that this was Todd?????

He's so hot and gorgeous in these scenes....just love him as Zorro, and I know a lot of fans do.

Marty goes off, but you cannot blame her, it's too close to home for her. The acting of the group she encounters, however . . . well I will save that for the fail! Milton is here also, and as you can see, his envy of Mr. Todd has been growing since way back....mwwuuuaaaahhh. LOL! Let's not rule him out.

OMG when he removes that mask, "I came back here to see you." HUBBA. *Thud* Roger has NO IDEA, clearly.

What I like about this encounter between Rebecca and Todd: She can barely even LOOK at him. LOL. She's just about swooning. He's gorgeous as all get-out. He wants to know if she's fine, if she misses him, no one could tell him but her. Sigh. His voice is melodic and controlled. He wants to know if she sold him out. His reaction to her saying no is awesome. He still has hope. He hugs her sideways like the old films! LOL! And then, he says "we're going to have the time of our lives." And, my fave part, when he grabs her at last and says he's not letting her go! She looks like she's going to fall over from swooning!

What I dislike about this encounter between Rebecca and Todd: She's never up front with him. Poor Todd, he does have issues with that, doesn't he? The way she reacts is over-the-top. He's crushed by her words. "Im not any part of your future." SLAM. She should have been honest about turning him in and everything else. However, she's lying to herself anyway, as we know.



The next clip...complete with crap 90s music, Marty is just not having a good time. Gosh, if Milton Bittlecomb does not look like TSJ, no one does.

Rebecca CALLS FOR HELP! OMG. Powell is going to be the hero...gag....sneaks up behind our boy. BUT I LOVE THEIR CONFRONTATION so I am ok with the loser doing this. A fight breaks out and....TODD GETS AWAY! YAY! AGAIN. THis is going to lead to that awesome confrontation between them in the cabin. Whoo hoo!

FAIL: Hank: These police are well trained. Oh please, give it a rest, they've not done anything right since day one.

Weird because the dates now line up in a strange way with the clip number! COOOl.

And so is Zorro. He makes his entrance with Beth, and the rest is going to be history. I didn't REMEMBER the part of this where Marty dropped something and Todd picked it up and handed it to her. Stunning! And then Kevin, does not recognize him either.

Powell and Rebecca win the most romantic costume contest and Zorro is looking on. The more I watch, the more convinced I am that Milton Bittlecomb is now being played by TSJ. OOOh Zorro cuts in!!! HOW DOES REBECCA NOT KNOW THAT MOUTH? Uh....what a dimwit. Love when Zorro kisses her hand. So gorgeous. I also love that he won't talk to her....lol.

FAIL: I guess the simple fact that this mysterious, dark stranger who won't speak and has the same mouth as Roger shows up and no one notices. I'd guess that mouth in three seconds. Maybe less.

Marty having some second thoughts about having come to the party. She's REALLY going to regret it in a bit because of MULTIPLE incidents.

Yet another Todd red herring. Nope, Todd's costume is much more clever than that. I love what Kim said about it; Todd picked that costume for himself and gave it a great deal of thought.

The crowd applauds Rape Rehab Poster Boy as if it had never happened...and then Jim finally makes himself useful. As cringe-worthy as all this business is, I find it telling that he's the only one who had the guts to call Powell on his BS. More on this in a minute.

Jessica and Joey piecing together what happened after she'd passed out. Todd never even really got credit for this, either, interestingly enough, even though they'd figured it out.

Powell and Jim "duking it out." It's OK, you can laugh. I think the writers had to know this was ridiculous, lol. Powell can apparently "freestyle" his poems, I guess. The "audience" seems to think it's a planned performance between Powell and Jim. I so wish more of Jim's lines of rebuttal would've rhymed, though I give him props for the first two, and he basically scored knockout blows the whole way through. Still, it has me thinking, "what if?"

Maybe...

This party desperately needs Todd to add some "coolness" factor. Amazing how lame everyone else seems by comparison. Even though Roger wasn't really that much older than everyone else in real life (25), his character came across as someone in a completely different place in life...much wiser, more jaded, and more mature (not quite the right word here given his demons, but I can't really think of another way to put it). Makes sense, as his experiences will do that to you.

Look how angry Powell is...he wants to go hit Jim. And for what? Telling everyone the truth they so conveniently forget? Whatever happened to self-loathing Powell?

Too bad Zorro wasn't there to see Poet Boy exposed.

Beth runs into Zorro and mistakes him for Jason. Thankfully she doesn't recognize him...too drunk and clueless.

Zorro gets a glimpse of Poet Boy with Zorro's woman. Zorro doesn't play cheesy word games, Poet Boy. You're finished!

Milton Bittlecomb sighting! He apologizes for Jim. Aw, poor Powell, being reminded that he raped someone. Funny...Todd would be reminded time and again of what HE did after he was pardoned all the way to Victor Lord's tomb, and nobody seemed to think HE was owed an apology (nor was he).


Fail: The rhyme-off was both a success and a failure. It was intentional-unintentional comedy, if that makes sense. LOL. And for crying out loud, is JIM really the only one besides Todd with any common sense in that town?

Today is a big day! Last day of school before vacation, half day, we're doing a breakfast for 86 kids :D and.....YOUR GIFT ARRIVES!



Zach: "Calm down, you want to go back to solitary?" I wonder more and more about Zach, he's so emotionless and very plotting in his own way, and even though Todd seems way worse than him at this point, Zach has no remorse or regret, or anything. Just a blankness.

Milton Bittlecomb! You are back! Now THIS is what TSJ was doing when he was younger. To me, he's a perfect match for him. A good imposter story would be to see that Milton grew up into TSJ and had revenge on his mind. LOL.

Powell meets Rebecca. Todd meets Nora's newspaper clipping. This seems to be the start of a trend, with Roger having scenes ALONE that work better than some scenes with other actors and actresses! Right before he crumbles up her photo, you can see Jack Manning so much in that young face!

"She has the power of forgiveness." And he couldn't be more right. Rebecca helps Todd become more human to us. Eventually, she leads him to be a better man. I love this about their relationship, because in all her own weaknesses, she still does really help him change. Sigh. Very romantic in its own right.

His "act" here with Rebecca is almost seamless. He's so VILE. LOL. I love that word to describe him at his worst. "Its kind of like a sign that you and I were meant to be friends." :D Go Todd!

Love these scenes. I don't like that Rebecca got used, but inside him, he was really searching for something better and this was the way he could reach that.

FAIL: Powell's hair - it's perfectly coiffed in jail. He's got every strand in place. LOL.

Clip of the Day, Dec. 1, 2010

Happy December! Wow, I said it. This month may prove to be a good one on the current show. We'll see!



What really interested me today in watching this was that I had another window open with Todd and Moose, and realized HOW MUCH that character had evolved and developed over the few years he was created. It's amazing to have seen that and to be able to look at it now, critically, with an educated eye. The times had changed but the work was always the same - great.

Powell finishes his call to Kevin and they finally figure out that something is not quite right. Kevin decides they have to find him. I actually jumped when Milton Bittlecomb came in! You know my theory on him. Anyway, the scene progresses with an interruption for Powell, but soon after, he is well on his way to the end. I just LOVE how this all fits together, and that Milton figures it all out and calls for help. So great. Small details, just as always, OLTL fits it all together. I think it's a great step including Milton on the action. He was a day player and was better than some of the main people today.

Powell's flashbacks to the Spring Fling are also very effective. Not having seen it for a few years, and when watching the show live back then, not having seen it in a number of months, it lets you remember what happened and how terrible it was, and how Powell KNEW what he was doing was wrong and how Marty had appealed to him for help. Quite powerful stuff. Love the next set of episodes a lot.

FAIL: Nothing, everyone's right on, except maybe Nora who should really have determined this was going down before this stage of the game. But, the acting is dead on for everyone here.

"Powell is not like Todd and Zach." This line is the line that sums up the whole next substory. Nora's getting migraines; has to do with her illness that causes the backdrop for the later stories.

Milton Bittlecomb is back. I swear this is TSJ's character as a teen.

Ah that dramatic piano music....so leering. Love it. I love Powell's visual tour of the KAD house and Kevin's room. very realistic and powerful backdrop to what we are about to see. Of course, the flashbacks are an important part of the scene, because Powell is becoming totally unhinged. The phone call with Kevin gives us an idea about Powell's motivations - to please others and be accepted. He went too far with that, though, in the rape story. But, the last conversation with Kevin demonstrates conscience and emotion - and leads to even strong scenes.

Another episode with the "Scooby Kids" trying to get the evidence needed to put away the boyz.



I am completely convinced that TSJ should turn out to be Milton Bittlecomb grown up. Anyone?

Marty was getting to be really good friends with Rachel. In recent times, when Rachel returned, did TPTB remember it and make them friends? I think that sometimes friendships between female characters on soaps are few and far between because there is usually a man between them for some reason. These scenes between Marty and Rachel, Marty and Luna, etc, are really good and bring realism to the show. This conversation just reveals how alone she has been and how hard it has been without real friends. And - I just LOVE this Rachel....she's great! Hard to believe this is the same character who participated in the Georgie's murder story years later. A recast can have a terrible effect on a character, and don't we know that????

"Who moved it and where it is . . ." and they show the homeless guy. LOL. Well, he did have it, didn't he? I even forgot his name....was it Lenny? LOL. I guess I'll find out sometime in this clip. A slight bit contrived of a story twist. Luna brings fudge to Nora. Please. I guess that friendship kind of got patched up too. But all of the characters, like them or not, were just natural...they just acted so well they were not acting!

Todd at the door, with his music....dun nuh! This is going to be one terrible interaction. I love how Kevin and Rachel related also. More natural acting, things seemed real even if they were dramatic, sometimes far-reaching soap stories. This ALSO is what is missing today. First, the acting is wooden in so many cases. There's little that's based on an actor or character, and moreso on convoluted plots. If TPTB are having trouble figuring out why shows are getting cancelled one by one, they just need to look back in the history of the most successful times on soaps and see. It is right before their eyes if they choose to look. The quality of acting; real, deep stories that focus on detail and keep history accurate; good treatment of excellent actors and actresses; refusal to recast characters that developing big followings; character-driven stories. If soaps do disappear in the next ten years, as folks are guessing, it will be because of the lack of these important factors. What made us watch soaps is THE CHARACTERS that we came to know and could follow, day to day, not who looked best without a shirt.

FAIL: Luna's clothing, again. I was there during the 90s. This wasn't necessarily the way people dressed, or is it just that her character is not one of my faves?

The "Scooby Gang," as Juju coined it, comes to fruition in this edit. Commentary follows.



Marty decides they need to find the sweatband. As goofy as all of this is, I do enjoy it. I like to see something lighter about the story and it gives Marty time to bond with her new friends, friends she did not have before. I remember wishing the whole time that Jason was with Marty, not Velour, I mean Suede. His line about General Lee? (blech). They decide to go after Powell, how brainy, since he is the weakest link. Marty thinks the sweatband will make Powell crack. She may not need it, actually. Anyway, everyone's on the band wagon.....I like Milton Bittlecomb's scenes, so looking forward to some of that.

I love when Marty makes Rachel swear to keep it quiet with Hank and Nora. Rachel's not sure about it, but it makes for fun along the way, especially the scene in the hospital that comes much later. Marty's really going all-out to get the boyz retried and convicted.... Did I mention I like this Rachel best (LOL)!? She is so pretty in these scenes but I also think she can act circles around the later Rachel.

What can I say? Seeing Wanda Wolek in these scenes....just makes me so happy. I used to love her character, and her husband, in the old days of OLTL when I was a kid. So happy in my research to find that Marilyn Chris is still alive and I don't have to add her to my Dearly Departed database. Whew. Anyway, she makes for good comedic relief and I preferred her as a "parent figure" to Rebecca later on. The poor woman is not even on IMDB. And....enter Milton Bittlecomb....these day players were OUTSTANDING even if he is a walking cliche. Look how high his pants waistband is. LOL! They get him to promise man to man to man. And about Todd, "you can hear his knuckles scrape the ground when he walks." LOL! Milton, you're the best. Suede's best scene EVER is with Kevin here, propping up Milton so he gets convinced to help out!

FAIL: How long will Luna be in that God-awful dress? Sheesh.

More video drama for us thanks to juju. Todd is going to start getting REALLY NASTY. Commentary follows.



Todd just plays it ULTRA COOL. He's debonair, handsome and ... nasty as pig crap. I can't believe how a young actor like this can make us swoon and show disgust in the same week. He does this to me all the time, sometimes he even disgusts me and makes me love him in the same SCENE...and the same SENTENCE. It's that acting prowess that very few have. Roger is my favorite actor of all time. Here, he's absolutely HANDSOME and malevolent at the same time. He just puts it all back on Marty and it's deplorable and intriguing at the same time. Love Roger's work as Todd from day one to the last moment.

"Intimate." The way he says it, is almost dreamy. It makes me feel like jumping on him...! He's hateful and attractive, he's mean and gorgeous, he's pained and stoic....AH! What a draw.

Beware. He gets nastier in the next clip.

FAIL: Nothing. RH is on the screen most of the time.

Hi guys! We're almost to the testimony of TODD....where it starts to get really good as far as him revealing himself....Commentary follows!



You HAVE to love his entrance. Everything involved here starts to show him for what he is, or at least, what he appeared to be at this point in the story. This is harder for me to watch than some of his later scenes because he's so purely disgusting. I continue to despise Powell during this. If you're so sick over it, tell the truth. UGH.

PETER!!!! He's so ghastly. UGH. Rachel does not like her mom being involved with these guys and questions her mom's belief in their voracity. A phone call is more important than his son's testimony. The punch that says "remember you're a Manning." "Stand up to them..." UGH. I love this because I can at least PEEK a reason for Todd's nastiness.

Larry! HI! OMG! I used to love Larry as the doctor on this show. He seemed to be a doctor of everything...I always liked him. The the Geek, who I will call "Bittlecomb" today....he says a lot of things making Todd look bad, but Todd seems to not need much help in that department. Basically, Marty is getting dragged over the coals here throughout. It's not looking good for her. The next thing we'll see is Todd's testimony.

FAIL: For this episode, I can't really think of a fail, except for Powell again. He barely speaks in his scenes and looks like he is going to barf most of the time. Perhaps a little more time spent on him, with monologues or something, could have helped flesh his character out a bit. Right now, I hate him worse than Todd in this story - he could have spoken up and should have - he was the only one who KNEW what he was doing was wrong that night. I do have to give SM credit later, during other scenes of Powell's, but right now...pllllllth.
