Yes, after a month's hiatus, we're back with the daily clips of Roger Howarth's Todd Manning Story. Thanks to juju for the clips, hope that she reigns victorious over recent computer issues.

Oh my, I missed these two little beauties.

"YES WE DO!" Sarah yells at Powell. GO GIRL GO. Imagine if they could have found this original little actress to come back to be Sarah. But, we are fortunate to get Erin Torpey back before the end of OLTL.

It's so hard to write about these clips right now, knowing full well that soon, they will be literally ALL WE HAVE of this show. One Life will be missed so much.

The thing about these vids is that it's awesome. It's not altogether dated, and Roger is just amazing; we are watching him blossom and grow. Rebecca is torn, as we were. We wanted to love him and also knew we should find him revolting...but couldn't. We can identify with Rebecca so much because he made us love him, and we didn't want to do it!!!

The kids are so adorable. So unassuming and so innocent in their love for him. They cannot see his past, they can only see his present, and that he was a hero to them. You HAVE to love this clip because it has so many old faces in it. Sheila, Hank, Marty, Jessica (original), etc. Just a nice blast from the past. There is no Todd in this one, but it's a great place to start back up - with so many of the old beloved characters right there for the viewing. Next clip: Ray (yes) and Todd in prison therapy.

Hank is going to starting to think he might have to pardon Todd, and everyone's upset. Who wants him out on the streets again? Well, we do, of course, and probably Rebecca, but she doesn't know it. The kids are very adorable and their television exploits are an interesting diversion. Kate Noonan starts the trouble but we're glad for it.

"Maybe they've seen something in you the rest of us never have."

I know that Rebecca is the catalyst for Todd being able to love. And CJ, Jessica and Sarah are the catalyst for him being able to do good. Put those together, and you get a "reformed" person - at least to a point.

Marty: "I wish Todd had never saved me." I know he did a terrible thing to her, but that statement really makes no sense. "I wish Todd died" or "I wish I never met Todd" but of course, she has to be grateful that someone saved her life...it's sort of overkill, which is what happens with her character from here on in, until the fireside chat. This is not my favorite period for Marty. She begins to get sort of annoying when she attacks him at every turn. I know he deserves it in many many ways. But....it's still irritating. We see a guy who has lost everything possible, and is alone in the world....totally alone. He has done terrible things, but at the same time, he's constantly kicked when he is down.

When I watch the upcoming vids of Todd and Ray, I wonder why they did not approach the abuse deeper in therapy when they had the chance. At that point in Roger's development as an actor, he definitely could have handled it and it would probably have secured a second Emmy for him.

Ok onward. Cannot wait to see TM today.

I love the adults trying to talk sense to the "kids." Cord, Marty, and Andrew try and talk sense to the children and the Assistant DA tries to talk sense to Todd. Interesting parallels.

After everyone tries to get CJ and SARAH to quit, they get approached by a television crew!!! LOL. Somehow all of this petition stuff and television, etc, reminds me of the campaign for saving the soaps!!!

I love the relationship between the kids and Todd, and it just gets solidified more during this time period where they fight for him against all the adults, even against Todd.

Way behind in these, I guess the excitement of FINALLY SEEING HIM BACK has gotten to me. But we cannot neglect the facts, we need to know his history and keep it alive as well. Thanks to JUJU for these great moments we can cherish. Chime in guys about your fave parts, greatest lines, moments you love. That was the original purpose of the blog in the first place!



Love the whole "Free Todd Manning" campaign that the kids came up with! It's really a great way the writers got Todd out of jail. Powell talks about Todd as if he himself never did anything wrong.

I love Zach's behavior here. He's so good, too. He really did get the shaft.

Todd did not commit suicide, after all, he thought about it but did not do it. He got a letter from the kids and changed his mind. Actually, he's in debt to them for his life following this escapade.

This is a great "ep." I love all of it, except for Powell's crappy attitude and his ridiculous over-acting regarding Todd's villainy and his own innocence. Gag. I guess we will never get over the fact that Powell was just as guilty and we will never be able to accept that he just felt like he was special.

"Rebecca please help us with the genie!" LOL. The little voice and cheeks on Sarah!

"Would you let three people die?"

"Depends."

I always said Zach was more of a sociopath than Todd was. LOL.

I love how he wants to "stick around and see what that feels like!" concerning Sarah and CJ's devotion. So great.



Are you friends with Todd Manning? We're his BESTEST friends!

The newspaper is next for these two. LOVE IT.

Todd gets Zach to call Rebecca to tell her that the letter is false and that he's not dead. This is a good twist anyway, because it leads to her finding out that he was thinking of committing suicide. Hee hee. She's SO UPSET when she thinks he was going to kill himself. Love it. Powell walks in. He's SO AGGRAVATING. GET LOST.

Powell is starting to seethe. And it's a pretty good twist the writers are leading up to. Mr. Perfect and....well, you all know what he does.

And Zach, brings me back to him, I still say he's the worst of the three - never had a bit of remorse and Todd's right, he never knew what he'd done, but Todd was starting to find out slowly but surely, what he had done and what it meant. Oh by the way, just love him with the little strand of hair falling.



I am putting this one up also, it's like a third piece of this whole little plot, so I included it today. Todd becomes upset when he sees that the kids are campaigning for him. He calls the kids, a little farfetched, but he does. And lets them know they should not continue the petition. "I'm not worth it."

He sits a lot with the little man in his hand. Poor Todd. The show was REALLY MILKING IT.

He gets visited by Llanview Live, and also, the assistant to the District Attorney. But Todd's not buying it; he's not a hero in his own eyes. He's starting to accept the things he has done and see their implications. He wants to protect the kids and accept himself as a "bad guy." A big step for him. This whole saving Marty story was the turn around in a major way for this character.

FAIL: Powell. My goodness, did they WANT us to hate this guy, because it's working!

Trying this on my new xoom tablet for the first time. I'm using text to talk, So will see how this goes. In this case, Todd literally has no one, except maybe Zach. I always find their scenes interesting.

The thing I love about this scene is how Todd reveals who he is without realizing - we start understanding that he does not want to live. He does have remorse - not a sociopath. Todd - we love you.

He actually tells Zach his plan.

Powell wants to write a book ... "about what happened to all of us last Spring." Uh, ok.

The whole Powell thing gets so out of control whenever they want to make a comparison between the two of them. "what happened to all of us?" He's considering himself Todd's victim. Whatever.

Hard writing about this today because 1) I have stitches in my shoulder and it hurts and 2) I am so excited about Friday!

We start off with a glimpse at the Viki/Sloan/Clint triangle. Sad being reminded of Clint Ritchie's death...he was one of the OLTL legends.

Rebecca and Powell at the police station with Bo. Rebecca is totally giving away her feelings for Todd. Her point about Todd having been there for months and there having been no victims is a poignant one. Of course, Bo doesn't want to hear of it. Everyone thinks they know Todd better than Rebecca, but they're wrong.

And she still can't get that kiss out of her head!

"Including Todd?" Rebecca is still concerned for his safety when nobody else is.

And Todd now has three people who genuinely care about him. He's slowly building some momentum.

Well, here's loud, self-righteous Marty. Sorry, but I can't stand her during this part of the story. I mean, I know intellectually that she has good reason to be upset and even angry at Rebecca for her part in his post-escape rampage, but she's just so loud, repetitive, self-righteous, and one-note. Her telling Rebecca how she's supposed to feel about Todd is just too much. Oh, heaven forbid she cries when a guy she became close to/fell in love with DIES...as if that's any of Marty's business. Her blowing up at Rebecca in this scene is one thing, but you would THINK that Marty would have been relieved enough by Todd's "death" that she would've let Rebecca grieve. Instead, she decided to scold her with more self-righteous banter and insist Rebecca should be "glad he's dead."

You can see the screws coming loose in Marty over the next several months, too. It seems everyone "goes crazy" to some extent at some point during this storyline. Todd, Powell, Marty, and Rebecca. But I guess that shouldn't be too surprising; this was an intense story.

It's also funny how Marty is standing there in front of two people - Rebecca, and a guy who raped her - and she apparently has nothing against the rapist. All of her anger is directed at the OTHER person. From this scene, you would think Marty and Powell are friends. Ugh.

Clint talks with C.J. and Sarah about the "bad man" genie. Note how they don't make a huge fuss about defending him right here, though they're questioning what people tell them. After the car accident, though, we'll see them convinced they were right all along and fight tooth and nail for Todd's freedom. These kids are no dummies.

Fail: No Todd. Pretty obvious one there. Marty and her whiny, self-righteous rants. The lack of even a hint of anger from Marty toward Powell. Powell continuing to be "Mr. Wonderful" as he defends his girlfriend. Awwww, how sweet. Not.

Rebecca lies about the kiss, Powell is HOVERING. Meh.

Actually the Cappy scene is in THIS CLIP. LOL! Anyway, it's here. Who uses the name Cappy?

This clip is mostly connected to them trying to find Todd, and Rebecca looking at the place he stayed all those weeks....and finding her picture "among the ruins." Powell is SO DAMN IRRITATING....I just want him to vanish. I think she realizes here that Todd was there the whole time because of her, and just wanted her back. She cries, and Powell comforts her. Sheesh. I think this is where he starts to get annoyed with her interest in Todd and protecting him. Bo promises police protection and is thanked by Powell. I wonder what Bo is thinking when he stares after Powell, as he makes his way toward Rebecca after saying "the kind of guy Todd is..." Is Bo thinking, "you're just as bad." Or is Bo thinking, "Poor Powell and Rebecca..."

Hmmmmm. I loved Bo during these stories. His responses were ambivalent enough to confuse us as to where his heart really was....and I know he felt a fatherly thing toward Todd, in some ways. I always loved that relationship and it seems as if it is really on its way during the next series of clips; I will be on the watch for it.

FAIL: I am getting tired of writing it but POWELL.

Rebecca gets Powell on his way. THAT ALONE SHOWS THE TRUTH. If she was afraid, or hating Todd in any way, she would have NEVER protected him and lied about him being inside. She WANTED to be near him, she just didn't want to let herself admit it.

There's that Todd music in there...the scary one from the Spring Fling....interesting why it's placed there when she returns to Todd. God how beautiful can this guy get? He always surprises me with how he looks to my eyes.

Wow I LOVE what he says to Rebecca here. He admits EVERYTHING he's done wrong. He does not want to go back to jail, and who would? Especially a rapist; they receive special treatment there. Hopefully there is more on that in Todd's future if the Real One returns.

He does NOT deny that he was going to kill them both. That is what I always believed about the cabin scene but deep down, if they went that route, I don't think Todd could have killed REbecca in the end. He COULD HAVE killed himself though. If Roger was not a huge success as he was, that could have happened. Imagine if Todd were played by someone like the current Todd. The suicide would have been months earlier and really happened. LOL!

I LOVE when he wants to trade a kiss for leaving. "You want me to go, don't you?" OMG, he is so gorgeous. ANd....she's going to let him go. Of course, she doesn't plan on kissing him....or does she?

"I am not going to kiss you." LOL! Ok Rebecca, with THAT MAN in front of you, give it a try resisting! LOL! This, of course, is when we all KNEW what Rebecca really really really felt deep down, when the kiss happens between these two for the first time. When he says "Come here" and barely touches her face, she looks like she is going to pass out! LOL! He has that affect on people.



Sorry, in the middle of the kiss event, Powell starts to figure out who the Genie is and asks them to describe him. I LOVE SARAH, looking to the ceiling for a way out of that one!!! LOL!

Back to the moment, he's describing a moment in a dream to her. So romantic. How can ANYONE SAY Todd's not a romantic guy. He totally is, deep down where it counts. What can be more romantic than his pitch to her about the kiss? "I want to feel you that close to me for one last second." OMG. WHO could say no?

TODD: "Wait, where are you going? It says we have a kiss!"

KIM: (poking head back through the shed door) "Kiss nothing, I am going to get my bags and my birth control. Be right back...Ali!" (winks and runs off).

Ok back to reality. What I call the "Elizabethan" music is playing....everything is perfect, he's DROP DEAD SEXY and she's about to faint from sheer expectation. Remember the Slow Burn conversation we were having? THIS IS THE STUFF MISSING FROM SOAPS TODAY!

"I'll never forget you, Rebecca."

And that begins another phase of The Masquerade, when Todd goes to NY to escape the police!

Pan to Sarah, "And he's got this funny thing on his face." LOL! So cute. Powell knows, oh well, here we go, Todd on the run again, but some of my favorite on the run scenes.

Rebecca tells. I think she did this for two reasons. To protect people from him and to protect HIM by having him be caught and put back in a "safe" place (which is how she sees it). She can't stop thinking of that kiss!!! WHO COULD!!????

The rest of this is Todd running away, Powell acting like a hero (gag), Rebecca looking lost, BO and Nora finding out again that he's not dead and around, and Cord looking through the woods.



Amazing that in a few months or so (a bit longer), Vicki will be bringing Todd into her home as her brother. It's discovered that it really is Todd, police become involved, the kids get a talking to, etc. Powell gets ACCOLADES for his finding Todd's knife. He used it to carve a beautiful bird, a cross and some pendants. "He did a lot of damage out there."

Here's the "I ain't Cappy" scene. I love it. I've used it in the guess the line game, and no one got it. It's between Todd and these two guys he runs into.

FAIL: How come POWELL gets accolades and poor Todd gets wrecked? Exactly that. TPTB at the time wanted us to pity Todd and made it easy to do so. This was his turnaround story. His psuedo-redemption, part 1.

Ok these KIDS are so cute, letting Todd have his time with Rebecca!! They hate Powell, too!

"I'm crazy about those kids." And he is.

Rebecca at first is just not warming up to the idea of him being alive and having hidden there all that time....and lying to the kids.

This clip I am going to leave unsaid for you all to respond to! I am too busy swooning to make myself write. ROGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (fangurl screams)

Clip of the Day, March 16 2011 (188)

Rebecca thinks she's just humoring C.J. and Sarah with their cute little game...boy is she in for a surprise!

I wonder where Todd got that knife from. I might have to go back and watch to see if it's ever explained...but what if it's the same knife he found while terrorizing Nora? Just a thought, but he may have kept that on him. Wow, the endless irony, symbolism, and other literary aspects in that, if that were actually the case.

Todd can't just leave that easily. Here come Rebecca and the kids to meet Ali.

"You're making fun of us!" These kids are awesome.

Rebecca sees Todd's parting gifts for the kids and the whole mood shifts. Sarah finds Todd in back...no way out of it now!

The Moment.

Love the dynamic here with the kids completely unphased and chattering while Todd and Rebecca stare at each other speechless, with the tension level through the roof. They don't need words.

"You guys talk." Indescribably cute.

Now we get to see the answer to the question from confession of "what will you say to her?" Todd said he didn't need to rehearse anything, but whether he actually planned for this occasion or not is anyone's guess. You have to think he couldn't help but think about this moment over all the weeks he'd been in there.

It seems like it's just coming from the heart as he's in the moment, as he wanted. He has me convinced...easy choice, leave Poet Boy while you still can!

And he says those three words. Not surprisingly, Rebecca looks for the tangent to avoid what she's afraid to admit. Todd's thumb is fine, Rebecca. Stop looking for excuses!

C.J. and Sarah lead Preppy Poet in the wrong direction. The fact that the kids aligned themselves with Ali and against Powell the Pure is an important statement throughout this storyline; they see more than what meets the eyes of the adults in Llanview. They're better judges of character.

Fail: Not really a fail, since it's really funny and adorable: C.J. and Sarah's high-five was off, LOL.

Why was Rebecca so excited about a date with Powell? That has to be one of the dullest experiences ever. She must get ultra-excited whenever she has a root canal, too.

OK, I hope someone has the chance to comment...I guess a lot of people have been busy.

Meanwhile, in the Garden Shed: "She doesn't care about you. All she cares about is Powell Lord III. Ratboy. Just give up." Reminds me of "Self-therapy" from 2000. Roger! So amazing.

This is where we first start noticing the little gold threads in his hair (even if put there)! LOVE IT. Just a small, occasional thread here and there. YUMMY. I love how he gets caught by Sarah trying to fly the coop!!! "You're my best friend, don't go!" OMG, how can anyone resist those little cheeks saying that?????

This is my favorite Rachel, but don't care much about this scene with her talking about Kevin.

"You guys saved my life. You're my best friends." He's not lying. He's totally telling her the truth. I love Roger with kids. Of course, on OLTL now, or whatever they are going to call it, there are no "kids" except Sam Manning. Maybe he'll strike it up a friendship with him?? All I can say is, these scenes between him and Sarah and CJ are priceless. Thanks Ju for putting them here. The kids are SO TALENTED - compared to todays' "teen set." GAG.

ARTIST. That is all I can think of here. He is going to stay long enough to make them something. ARTIST! Oh boy!

The kids are going to bring Rebecca to Todd. That is going to help him stay and get strong...they think. Very cute. Leading to that "moment" when.....they have that kiss in the garden shed that Rebecca can't ever get out of her noggin!!! Who can blame her?

FAIL: Powell's tuck in. Other than that, to much Kevin and Rachel drama. LOL!

Opens with a conversation between Powell and Kevin.....and Powell is overjoyed about Rebecca. Gag. Kevin teases him a bit about it. Todd is outside listening. And of course, they talk about the "nightmare" again. Powell gets congratulated on how great he's done since Spring Fling. Ugh.

Rebecca relates the "terrible dream" to Renee. "I haven't thought about Todd in weeks." *Rolls Eyes*

"I don't deserve this kind of happiness." Who does that sound like?

Can Sarah be any cuter? She's just so so so cute. I was really angry when they replaced her with Hayden, even though she's cute too, this Sarah is way better.

I love this length hair on Todd. He's so unbelievably gorgeous. Crap! The doorbell rings and ruins Todd's chance of seeing her again. At least he has not given up! Poor Todd! Foiled at every turn! Geesh! It's so much like a soap for this to keep happening! But it did keep us in suspense for what follows in a few clips. *snicker*

Rebecca, if I did not know better, has the nervous laugh of my cousin who used to laugh like that, and even did much more loudly, at her mother's funeral. UGH. The little stuffed bunny and Powell trying to make her laugh. If I were Todd, I'd want to beat Powell silly. He "makes her sides hurt." Uh, it's not THAT funny. This clip is just about how many times Todd's efforts to appear to Rebecca were thwarted by "regular life."

FAIL: I guess the relationship between Powell and Rebecca is exactly what it appears to be - fake. Stuffed, like the bunny, full of goody-goody pretense. I do love when Powell cracks up....but in comparison, her time with Todd seems like a slice of reality compared to this crap.

Welcome to another edition of Clip of the Day! Thanks Juju for the work!



I LOVE this....when Todd is crying, and Sarah runs in and says "Don't CROY Ali, don't CROY!" and hugs him. One of my FAVORITE MOMENTS of the GENIE. I absolutely adore that moment, and we're kind of lead to believe he's crying about Rebecca, but I always thought he was crying about his own life, what he had become and how hurt he was inside.

"It's over, I lost all my magic powers."

Uh, not from this angle, Mr. H.

"No one would love a Genie like me."

"We still love you."

I echo that sentiment!

He is so adorable with these children. And again, after not watching him for a few days, or even hours, I go back and say, whoa. Right now, he's up against Tony Geary in my head, because I have been watching Luke and Laura from day one, and am at the Beecher's Corners part. Tony was SUCH A NATURAL. It was so automatic and you can tell he is ad libbing as well, throughout. But...I am sorry....Roger's better. He's just got a different, deep, dark edge that pulls me in the right direction. He won over the audience with his depth. Luke had his deepness at times, but in reality, Roger has the range that I can't see anywhere else in daytime television. His acting ability reminds me of some of the bigger movie stars. He seems to be able to do just about anything. No matter how enthralled I am with other performers' work, I still return astounded to The Man, every time. I see acting as an art form that I love to view, and he's at the pinnacle of creation. Over the years, I am sure comparisons have been made between these two, because they were both rapists turned romantic anti-hero......and I can see why; however, it's clear to me that Roger outshines Tony about 95% of the time. And I DO LOVE TONY'S WORK, don't get me wrong. It's just that Roger is more believable to me and has a greater range. Your comments on this would be welcome.

Oh have I mentioned that I love Cord's role in this storyline?

FAIL: I am sickened by Powell. He just makes me wanna....fart. I can't explain....! YUCK.

Well, we see the end of Rebecca's realization and Todd is outside stalking. Look how gorgeous, with his hair blowing in the breeze. Yum. He's so damn attractive, even when he is a homeless.

Ok I don't think I can take more of this Powell is a great, honest, goody goody, romantic guy. UGH. When Todd is in the house looking through Rebecca's things (stalker) he's the romantic one, in my mind. I know people hate to hear that about Todd but he was truly a romantic deep in there. Just take a look at three things: his fantasies throughout his life, his dreams/stories that he tells, and the ways that he talks to the women he loves. DEFINITELY. Roger's not happy about it, but it's true.

I do love the Genie hair length. I think it's perfect. Yummy. Here's to hoping! You never know what's under that knit cap he's been wearing!

I HATE when Powell gets onto the Genie thing.....it's so aggravating. I would have liked for the Genie to stay around for ages. I really enjoyed that character that Roger created, and he's about to go. Darn! But Zorro is on the way, so that is a consolation.

Todd, remembers back to when Rebecca tells him she was in love with him. And in the middle of it, Powell and Sarah come into the shed! Poor Todd! Poor Powell, if Todd gets to him!

Sarah is so cute when she calls Ali. LOL. That bow on her head is hysterical! But of course, this was Madonna time. LOL!

FAIL: too much Powell and his overtly romantic crap. I prefer Todd's covert operations.

Amazing how in-demand the "good" rapist is...two girls fighting over him? Please.

Powell's "I would never do anything to hurt you" line is one of those moments where you flash back and forward at the same time. It's the same line Todd was using when he was trying to get her to calm down while they were on the run...but it's also a line that Powell would disprove in the future.

"I'm not like them," says Sappy Poet...what is it with Powell and his trying to differentiate himself from anyone else who does something wrong? Course, when Nora, Kevin, and the prison trustee (forgot his name) are constantly giving him pats on the back, it probably boosts his ego. He went from pointing a gun at his head to seeing himself as some sort of saint in the span of a few months.

Rebecca being gullible once again in believing Emily. I think deep down maybe she wanted to believe her, as it would give her a good reason not to be with Pet Poodle and "remain faithful to Todd's memory." LOL...that's what I'm going to say, anyway.

Little Sarah delivers Todd the news he wants to hear, and he's delighted.
Rebecca goes back to reading Cyrano's (Powell the Pure's) poetry and says she wishes someone cared about her like that. Well Rebecca, someone does...he's out in the garden shed.

If only Todd had hurried up and come "back from the dead" before Rebecca figured out Pet Poodle was Cyrano. Alas, it was never going to be that simple. It takes the perfect anti-hero...someone like, oh, I dunno...Zorro...to combat a wimpy, sniveling poet. LOL.

Well, Rebecca's off to find the Poster Boy For Rape Rehab himself. We'll just have to grit our teeth and bear it for a bit.


Fail: Not enough Todd. Too much romance forced into the Rebecca/Powell thing.

The scene before the commercial and the beginning when they come back when Rebecca learns Powell is Cyrano is an example of something that slightly bothers me about the production with some of the "cliff hanger" scenes during this era; for whatever reason, they would use two different takes, and this often led to continuity errors. It doesn't really matter live, as you don't usually notice, but when you watch them back without the commercial and/or other storyline scenes in between, they stick out like a sore thumb. In this instance, we see Rebecca flipping through the pages and then quietly realizing it's Powell. When we get back from commercial break, we see she hadn't just "realized" it was Powell...she saw his name written on the cover of the notebook. Of course, her delivery isn't quite identical to what it was in the take shown before the break...and how could it be? Nobody is going to get two takes to sound exactly the same.

THAT song. Yes I have the recording, thank God, but it's a gorgeous song. Too bad it was wasted on Suede, but it's a gorgeous piece. One of my faves from the "One Life to Live Soundtrack" from 1994. I do own the CD! :D

The detail in the writing! Gee. The newspaper is actually PRINTED, we SEE it. It has other headlines around it that might be in a campus newspaper.....attention to detail is what made these soaps RULE during the 80s and 90s. I was the same age as these folks when this story took place, and I don't remember a huge trend toward chokers (ribbon ones) and I am wondering where that's coming from. Moreso in the 70s than the 90s. But anyway, it's fun to see how things were. The hair I remember!

Have I mentioned how much I love this man? Face at 3:17, demeanor, and the fact that he does not care how he looks, but comes off as totally sexy no matter what. Sigh.

Twice now, something has happened to me. A few weeks back, I watched the Caleb and Livvy story from PC. Michael Easton was outstanding. Then return to Todd, and Michael Easton fades into oblivion, paling in comparison. Yesterday, I spent most of the day cleaning and doing things around the house, but in the background, I was watching the Luke and Laura saga from 1979-1980. Then, when I come back to Roger again, and this has happened often, I am still amazed. He outshines everyone, and I dare say, even Tony Geary, because he's damn gorgeous to boot.

Tony is TALENTED, do not misunderstand me. He does what Roger does with emotion, etc. You can read so much in his face. However, Tony was never attractive to me. Roger sews it all up with that damn sexy face, gorgeous physique...and a presence that says, "Me? Gorgeous? You? Love me even though I'm a felon?"

Each time I return to his vids, it becomes more apparent to me that he just may be the most talented actor in daytime EVER. I'd put him up against the likes of Tony Geary, Tristan Rogers (certainly, though I love him, he was rather one-note at times), David Canary (very close race there, because in my estimation, David Canary was one of THE TOP DAYTIME ACTORS ever), Steven Nichols - and more - for the win. Roger is incomparable. He's so real. Everything he does is lightyears above the rest. No wonder we love him so much.

Sarah is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE IN THIS. I love how she TALKS! LOL! I always preferred her over the later one. The Sticky Toad story is one of my faves, but not my FAVE. My fave story he tells is the Dragon one he tells Blair later on. However, this one is really cute and also very telling about how he sees himself, just as his other stories are. Yes, he's manipulating the kids to spy and steal food for him but he is NOT hurting them, really, and never would, and we KNOW THIS just from watching what he is doing. Of course, the horror that goes through everyone later when they realize this rapist was alone with these children is expected, but I always LOVE how Cord changes his mind about Todd and sees him for what he was to these childen: a friend.

What else can be said? Roger just makes every scene light up. Every thing he says is genuine and beautiful and inspired in these scenes. It's a very Elizabethan in writing style all around; the genie aspect, the angry "beast" of a man, beautiful maiden, the Cyrano thing, the way Rebecca even dresses and behaves. Gorgeous stuff and a fantastic period in OLTL history that has been forever marred with the KAD Redo in recent times. God help us with that. Only Bobby Ewing can save us now from KAD. Of course, THE REAL TODD is coming so why can't the REAL REBECCA????

FAIL: Powell's conversation with the professor. To me, that professor just seems like a plumber. And Powell, seems dumber. There we go.

Ok, this KID is such a natural. And CJ is not so bad either. LOL!

Ok, he's being a bit manipulative here, but you HAVE to love that carved bird. He has artistic talents.....what else can a girl want?

I love when he gives it to Rebecca, CJ is just so cool about it. He doesn't take credit or do something stupid to cue her in, he just does it perfectly. Todd the stalker is back...outside the window. After all, he has to see how she receives the gift. And then he decides that she needs to know he's alive.

OMG, how FUNNY when SARAH stomps on CJ's toe! LOL! First he's totally cool, then he almost blows it, but little Sarah is NOT HAVING IT! And then, Cord blames CJ for scaring his sister! You might have THIS ONE backward, Dad. Did I mention that I absolutely LOVE that they juxtapose Cord against Todd's "master" throughout? PERFECT.

Another mirror scene. This show used to be fantastic. These writers were developing the most amazing character in a character-driven, awesome story. They knew what they were doing. He's in the mirror again, to clean up, but stops at the scar and it's a constant reminder of his darkness. PERFECT. This is why it will be terrible if he comes back as Todd without it.

Now he's crossing the line! LOL! Bring me Rebecca! And we have to wait for the next clip!
