Clip of the Day, Feb. 28, 2011 (170 and 171)

Good Morning!

Peek at that FACE at 2:17. Yum.

Poor Todd. He has to sit there and listen to Rebecca talk about what a liar and rotten guy he is. If I were him I would have shown myself right then, but I guess he feared the police, and they way she was acting, she seemed as if she would call them. But I think Rebecca is just convincing herself that she does not love him and that he was a terrible person so that she can deal with his death. Takers?

Sarah's little puppet show! LOL!

Ok he's so gorgeous in his purple cape! Yummmy!!!! Valentine candy for everyone! I JUST ADORE WHEN SARAH FINDS ALI!!! YES! My fave part of the Masquerade is his time with the kids.

THAT MUSIC! LOVE IT!

I am just in the mood today to do both clips, so we can see the meeting of Sarah and Ali.

My goodness, Roger transforms Todd in front of our eyes right away to Ali. Magic. I ADORE how he is with these kids through all of this. So precious. "what did you have to tell me?"

"Nothing." That FACE! I for one was not happy when this Sarah left. She's absolutely adorable and I love her scenes so much. And here comes CJ....another kid actor I ADORED. Look how cute these two are. Mwah! So adorable and TALENTED. CJ is extremely good in later times.

All right let me ask you.....what is more hooking than Todd with a tear shining on his face? If anyone was not in love with Todd Manning yet, that tear shining on his face might have done it. Roger is AMAZING. "I gotta get outta here. I gotta get a life." Poor Todd!

I loved Cord as a father, he was the best. REALLY an awesome parallel to Peter Manning, and just what the writers ordered. His kindness and fatherly love played BEAUTIFULLY off Todd's terrible past and abusive father throughout these stories. Again, the detail is amazing that the writer's plotted for our man.

FAIL: Powell is SO GOOFY in this part. UGH. Such a goody two shoes.

Sound off! Soon, we will have a guest commentator!! YAY!

  1. I think Rebecca has a case of what I call "good citizen syndrome." it happens when what you really feel or what you really think gets supplanted by what you're supposed to feel or you're supposed to think as a good, decent citizen. Everyone agrees that Todd is a monster, a liar, a plague upon Llanview. That's what she's supposed to believe if she wants to be accepted back into the fold. And let's not forget that Rebecca was always a survivor. She wanted to be accepted. She wanted to be a part of the greater good. She's not a person who would normally choose to live as an outsider.

So, to me, this is the part where Rebecca works vey hard to push down her real feelings, and her real grief and works to go along to get along. Even her admission to Renee that she fell in love with Todd was like divulging a shameful secret. I find myself both sympathetic and annoyed by her. I get where she's coming from and how difficult it must be to be grieving the death of Todd while the rest of the world celebrates it. But I also kind of want Rebecca to grow a pair and stand up for him; to be resolute in her love andbher opinion of him--all of him, not just the monster. And I want her to be defiant. When people whisper or point or talk badly about her or him, I want Rebecca to throw it right back at them. But that's what I want, that's not really who Rebecca is, at least not yet.

Cord was such a good dad. We don't really have a lot of that on the current OL. I wish they'd bring CJ and Sarah (revamped) back. They're an important part of the history of OL and of Todd's history.

Fail: Poor Powell. People are mean to him. They talk about him and say mean things. Sometimes right to his face! It's like they don't even realize that he's the good rapist! Don't they see how good he is? Really, Powell? Really?

I kind of wonder if Rebecca was also sort of angry with Todd...for "making her fall in love with him." It goes against everything she thinks she wants.

We're approaching that time where C.J. and Sarah basically stole the whole show. They're too cute for even RH to compete with, LOL.

  4. I love CJ and Sarah so much during this....SO MUCH. They play off him so well with their complete innocence against his . . . well . . . angst?
