Clip of the Day, Feb. 28, 2011 (172)

Hi all! Another day, another clip!!!

"Somehow, some way, I'm going to get you back!"

Love his fantasies about her! OMG, so perfect! Now for those who say Todd's NOT a romantic, here's a wake-up call. How can his own fantasy include a flower tucked behind an ear and the words he says if he's not? That's our boy - wanting something "normal" but usually sabotaging it before it starts somehow. He does this throughout his life, especially with the woman he loves. And wow, a fantastic kiss...and really, their first one, even though in a dream.

He's got his LU jacket on.....it's hard for us to feel sorry for him about what he's lost, but he has lost a lot. He lost his career, his college tenure, his father, his family, and his friends, as well as his position in the social arena. Basically, he's a man who has lost everything and then, there's Rebecca.

This morning, I am pressed for time, so I have to cut my commentary short. Tomorrow, we have a guest commentator!! YAY! I am excited.

See you!

Sound off!

  1. I love this. I should get away from here...but you're here, Rebecca. That's perfect. I love the way Rebecca's love, even just her presence, could kind of diffuse Todd. And you're right, Kim, he was always looking for something normal. He was always looking for the family he didn't have.

There was absolutely nothing better than RH with those kids. And they really were great little actors. They had a pretty big part in Todd's story, and they played their parts perfectly. And the writers wrote for them the way kids that age actually talk. Sarah: "He's at the Nacle." CJ (always the big brother): You mean the Tabernacle.

I think, sometimes, that escaping from prison was the best thing Todd ever did for himself. Being on the run with Rebecca, and then meeting CJ and Sarah, and later, Jessica, earning the love of innocents, so to speak, opened his heart. Made him look at himself, the things he had done, and find empathy in a way that he was never going to learn in prison.

  2. Your last paragraph got to me. People around here will tell you I am a total sap, and I am...and when I read this, I lost it. That last paragraph is so true and so...touching?
