At Daytime Emmy Awards, Maria Arena Bell told Entertainment Weekly (July 1, 2011), "that she's hoping to hire a few of the AMC and OLTLstars once those soaps go dark in September and January, repsectively. 'We know right now, people think soaps are the a thing of the past,' says Bell, who has also won an Emmy for writing the industry-leading Y&R. (It's sister show, The Bold And The Beautiful, was named bestdrama.) 'They're not. We feel like our show has a lot of life in it, ans so does the rest of the genre.'"
