Clint was trying to convince Vicki that his feelings for Kimberly had nothing to do with his feelings for Vicki. Vicki wasn’t buying it. She was going to Texas. Clint said he’d follow her. Vicki taunted him from outside the door, pointing out that he couldn’t follow her because if he stepped out of the house, his ankle monitor would alert the police. He stepped out the door and kissed her!
Gigi was trying to convince Cutter that she needed to stay in Texas, how at home she felt. She believed it was the key to getting her memory back. And that she wanted Cutter to stay. Cutter admitted he was afraid, if she got her memory back, she’d forget about how she feels about him. Gigi stepped up and kissed him. "You’re unforgettable," she told him.
Rex didn’t have to convince Aubrey that he and Shane needed this trip to Texas. But he did ask her to spend Christmas with him and Shane. She easily accepted. Then he stepped up and kissed her.
Clint came down the stairs to answer the ringing bell, rehearsing how he was going to convince the police it was all just a mistake. He opened the door and there was Kimberly.
In Texas, Shane’s trip with his dad wasn’t starting off well. They must have sent him ahead with the bags. Rex and Vicki stood just outside the Bonjour café, convincing themselves they did the right thing coming there. Vicki said she’d get Shane settled (thank goodness) while Rex perused the menu. Oh my!
Tea was trying to convince John that Tomas did not kill Victor. Hormones raging, Tea was well over the top in her intensity. John listened and then agreed with her. Tea, with tears in her eyes, realized the only thing which made sense was that Todd did it. John said he had no proof. Tea wanted to go rip into Todd. But John tried to convince her that the only way they’d get him was if he thought he’d gotten away with it and then he’d make a mistake. She was not to tell anyone. Even Blair. Especially Blair. Tea wasn’t sure she could do that. (I’m not sure, but think I sensed some interesting chemistry between those two (John and Tea). Sigh! I guess we’ll never know.)
The writers sure seem to be leaning us in the direction of Todd being the culprit. I’m just not comfortable with it. First of all, Todd was very convincing just that he didn’t do it. So convincing that Tea bought it. Her initial reaction was to accuse him. Todd made very good points, though: that he wouldn’t do it to Tea. I believe he does still love her. And he wouldn’t do it to his kids. Todd is reckless, that’s for sure. But he’s not stupid. He had to know that could put him back in prison. Secondly, Victor was surprised at whoever it was that came into the house that night to kill him. He wouldn’t have been at all surprised to see Todd. I don’t know if it matters in this fictional world, but Todd’s flashback never shows us Victor, just Todd. (I rather love that picture of him, wet and hair slicked back.) IMHO it’s certainly possible they programmed Todd into thinking he did. But what to do I know?
Baker came vacuuming into Todd’s office, in disguise. I’m not entirely sure what he came there to tell him – that Tomas was going to convince Blair that he was guilty.
It worked. Tomas convinced Blair that he killed Victor to protect Tea and Dani. And Blair believed him. The truth is, I don’t think Blair really wants a good man. Not enough excitement for her. If she did, she’d have tried harder with John - who is a Good guy. Or even Cris Vega. Tomas has lied to her from the very beginning. Blair just can’t get fired up over a good man.
So, Blair was feeling sorry for herself when Todd came in, ready to comfort her. This is what I love so much about Roger. The subtleties. When she told him she was convinced Tomas was guilty, there were flickers of glee on the edges of his concerned face. His face is always so expressive! I love the way he just laid himself against her. He wrapped himself around her like a warm blanket. They seemed to fit together so well. He stroked her face, so gently with his finger. So natural, so comfortable.
And then Tea burst in, saying she had to talk to Blair.
