Fraternity Row (Monday's Episode - 12/19)

I don't even know what to say. I'm choked up thinking about how wonderful One Life to Live is. This is not the first time they've stepped out of the boundaries of the everyday soap world to give us something surprising, something delightful.

Roxie woke up as the star of Fraternity Row, Lorraine King. Vicki and Clint were her maid and butler. David was her husband. Must've been a "pigment" of her imagination.
Todd played Dash Dunning. Man, did he look dunning! Who was the Real Dash Dunning? Was it Todd or was it Shaun, (with a scar across his cheek)? The Other Dash Dunning was being kept in an "Undisclosed Location" by Destiny who was angry that she was still a teenager, with a baby.

There were several of the other cast along for the fun. Blair and Tea were the local constabulary. John and Natalie played the Fraternity Row house parents, who had stunned everyone when the news came up they were brother and sister, though they were in love and "doing" it.

Somehow, Jessica, Starr (aka Moon), and Dani were students at Fraternity Row and convinced their boyfriends, the "Mazda" Brothers were cheating on them. Was it with Jessica/Roxanne's evil alter?

Nigel was hysterical as the woman who claimed to be Natalie's mother. And Vimal was perfect as the DNA tech at the hospital.

Everyone needed a DNA test!

I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. It felt like a love letter to the soap fans. Lots of little "in" jokes, just for us. And delightfully poking fun at themselves. I don't think a casual viewer would have derived nearly as much laughter.

The episode ended with Roxie waking up, David still there. And the long walk through the deserted studio. I was so worn out from laughing, all I could do was cry. I shall miss this show . . .
