James and Starr called it quits. Starr loved James. She told him she was just saying those things to Cole because he was dying. James kept crying and it kept making me cringe. I will not miss those boys! In the end, Starr couldn't say that she didn't love Cole, too. And James said he wouldn't play second fiddle to him. (I guess, thinking Cole really was dead, that would make sense.) James didn't think she'd ever look at him like that. Starr cried that she'd miss him. Gave him a kiss and left. One door shuts, another one opens, Starr.
On her way home, Rick accosted her. He was so sorry about her loss. Starr thought he was genuinely being nice. As he hugged her he told her again what a PR goldmine she was! He went on: "Listen to Uncle Rick, Star Fire. Grab that Rainbow." He had news that would "rock her world!" We never got to hear what the news was, but as he was leaving he said he would make all the arrangements. But he needed an answer by tomorrow. Starr was dazed and walked backward sitting herself on the steps. I bet she could use Dad about now. (Could it be, going to CA?)
Destiny came out of her appointment with Vivian to find Shaun waiting for her. Vivian said Destiny was doing just fine and evidently ready to give birth in just a few days. Destiny was ready to get it over with. Shaun wondered how good she could be doing when the father of her child ran out on her. Destiny said that being in DC was too far away to be her coach, but she was lucky to have Shaun to do it. Destiny asked Shaun for $20 so she could get some flowers for "Mr. and Mrs. B." When he handed it to her, Destiny told Vivian she had an awesome boyfriend and should hang onto him. Vivian said she knew that. Shaun was surprised she was talking to him. Vivian had thrown his ring back at him on Christmas. She didn't understand why he had given her one, knowing how she felt about marriage. Shaun thought he could change her mind. She explained again that she wasn't going to change her mind: she didn't want to be married, not to him, not to anyone. They realized they wanted different things and decided to call it quits.
Over the phone, Nora reassured Rex that Bo was a lousy patient, but doing well. He promised the family would be there to see Bo. They all love him. When Nora got off the phone she told Bo that everyone loved him. Even me, Matthew said from the door. Matthew told them that he was always going to come back. He believed that none of this would've happened if he'd been there. (Not sure how he figured that.) But they were all happy to be together again. Matthew was saying he had come back for his parents, when Destiny showed up in Bo's room. Was that all? Matthew apologized. He hadn't wanted to hurt her feelings. Perhaps Matthew's feeling about the baby changed? No, Matthew said, he didn't want to be a father. He wasn't ready. Destiny let him have it! Was she ready? No. Neither was Shaun or Vivian or his parents. But they all made themselves ready. Everyone's stepped up but Matthew. Mom and dad looked a bit dazed. Destiny was on fire!
Neela came to see Jack, who was not at all pleased to see her. She was worried about him and really wanted to apologize. Jack was having none of it. What she'd done to him was going on his permanent record. He explained how he had needed someone to confess to and he had trusted her. What did she do but turn him in. He wasn't going to believe anything she said. Neela told him how much she liked getting to know him and that the Shane had forced her into it. She wasn't even going to give him the tape, but she thought Shane was going to commit suicide if she didn't. Neela realized that was not a good excuse. But she was so sorry and had a confession to make to him. Jack said what else did you do to me? Neela hung her head and started to leave when Jack called her back. Neela explained how in her culture she had to marry a certain guy and she didn't want to. She had dreamed of a guy just like Jack and couldn't believe she had met him the first day! Neela just wanted to be honest with him. No matter what he might feel. The darn fool let her go. Neela was the best thing that ever happened to Jack Manning.
Roxie came to the mansion with lots of bags saying they were going to have a party. Rex said they'd already had a great party for their wedding. This was not for them, it was for the final episode of Fraternity Row. Gigi was on board. Roxie said the suits had already made up their mind, but they could party, nonetheless. Everyone was going to dress as their favorite character. I love it! She called that John and Natalie would come as the star crossed lovers on Fraternity Row. Someone, she added, had to give John and Natalie a happy ending.
Shane came in with the mail and an urgent letter addressed to him. Turned out it was an acceptance letter from the best art school in the world, located in the UK. He didn't understand, he hadn't even applied. Smart Mama Gigi had done it for him. He was bowled over, but now that Gigi was back, he wanted to stay with his family. Gigi and Rex said they would be willing to go to England with him. Roxie was not so happy about that.
John was delighted to find Natalie and Liam in his apartment and went straight for the little boy. He did ask after Jessica. Natalie told him that she insisted she go see John and not wait any more. John smiled and said she was right. John went to put Liam down for a nap and told Natalie to turn off both their phones. Natalie started off, acknowledging that he had saved her. John thought she'd saved him, as well. Natalie explained to him how she had overheard his conversation with Roxy that day at Rodi's and having witnessed the first part where John said he didn't love her, had gone to accept Brody's proposal. Roxy told her later that John had said he loved her, but Roxie is not always to be believed. Natalie wanted John to fight for her and he hadn't. John didn't know he was going to get yelled at. Natalie ignored him and continued. (Did she make the leap that because he hadn't fought she jumped to the conclusion?) She thought he hadn't forgiven her. Natalie admitted she had been stubborn and scared. And maybe it wasn't a good idea for her to marry John with that lie between them, knowing how he felt about liars. She was ashamed that she hadn't trusted him enough to tell the truth. She had been a coward, too. Could John ever forgive her? John just wanted to know when she was going to let him speak?
John said she was right, he was angry, but he really didn't handle it well. Do you think? Somehow Natalie brings out the talker in John. He admitted that getting drunk and sleeping with someone else, all his acting out, was to get back at Natalie. He was ashamed of his behavior. Clearly, he made things worse. He wondered if Natalie could forgive him? Yes, of course she could. John wanted to know if she still wanted him? Yes!! "Bring those lips here," he said. Wow! What a kiss. I shall miss them. They made the kind of love I haven't seen in a long time. Peeling off clothes . . . just imagine what we would get on the Internet!
Afterwards, John said he won't always do it perfectly. Natalie sniggered that she thought it was pretty perfect. John meant everything else. She won't either, she confessed. But he wanted to do it with her. "Natalie . . . " Natalie said he didn't have to say it. "Natalie, I love you." Natalie smiled and said it was worth it. She loved him too. Another great kiss. Sigh!
