The scenes were so hot! It's hard for me to take notes when Todd and Blair are on screen. The way they are together. I suggest you watch the video on The Real Todd Manning Blog for all the delicious nuances. Some of the highlights were the kiss, that he should have given her at midnight. When Blair said she was cold (?). In the Pool House, Todd told her how much he wanted her when he first came back and was watching/stalking her. Blair wanted promises, but Todd wouldn't give promises he couldn't keep. With a cry in his voice, Todd promised that he loved her and would always take care of their family. Blair didn't say yes, but she didn't say no. God Bless her. If Todd kissed me like that, I don't think I could resist. At the door, sending him home, she asked if he'd forgotten something. He came back and kissed her neck. Wow!
Meanwhile there were other goings on in Llanview. Evidently Destiny's dad works at the prison. (I didn't know that.) He updated John and Bo on what had happened. The regional power grid had been on the blink all day. One of the inmates sabotaged the power at the prison which opened the gate and let lots of prisoners escape, as well as score a few guns along the way. Perfectly executed. Mr. Evans couldn't say exactly how many, but there were hundreds of them. They knew who did it and had him in custody. It was Mitch Lawrence. He had set off a bomb and it went off in his face. So the prisoner they saw captured had bandages all over his face. John was not comfortable.
Mitch was, in fact, at Llanview, with Natalie in his grasp. He threatened to kill her parents if she screamed. Mitch said he had come for Jessica. Natalie told him she wasn't there. Mitch taunted her about Jared and how worthless he was. Natalie went for him and they wrestled over the furniture and onto the floor. I have to say, Mitch looked mighty good for his stay in prison. When he got the better of her, Mitch said he wanted to go upstairs to look for Jess. But Clint came down first, telling Natalie that Vicki was tending to Liam before he saw the situation. Clint thought a strong demand would get Mitch to leave. Mitch retorted, "We can settled this like lambs or lions." And out came his gun. He told Clint that Jessica was his. Mitch added Clint couldn't change that paternity test. (I've always liked Mitch's sense of humor.) Mitch hauled off and hit Clint.
Cole was at the front door and Starr wasn't believing her eyes. (He did look a little different.) Her first question was a good one: What was he doing there? Cole said he wasn't exactly sure what happened. He got swept out with the crowd. Once he was out, there was no going back. He wanted to see Hope. Starr reminded him he saw Hope every week. But that wasn't the same as seeing her without guards. Starr tried to get him to give himself up so as not to extend his prison sentence any more. Cole said he wasn't going anywhere without seeing Hope. Somehow Hope magically appeared at the door, asking for Daddy. It was a touching reunion. Starr was on the lookout, but told him the right thing to do was to give himself up. There was something else that drove Cole out of prison. He had received a smuggled in letter from his father, Patrick. He explained that Marty had left with Patrick and after being together for awhile, was getting better. Cole needed to find his parents. Starr wanted to know how he was going to do that? Cole didn't know. (He's never been the sharpest knife.) Cole decided what he needed was a place to hide so he could figure out what to do. After a near encounter with Todd and Blair, Starr took Cole to the pool house, where she awkwardly gave him a place to stay.
Nora was surprised to find Troy McIver in her living room. She wanted to know how he got there. Troy said he had been released for good behavior. (In the middle of the night, in his prison uniform?) Nora seemed unusually calm. How about a hug? Behind his back, Nora tried to call with a very large phone. But Troy had something better, a gun. Nora called him on the good behavior thing. She said he had just made matters worse. Troy told her he had to get out so he could see her again. Nora stated that she was married to Bo. Troy thought that was only because she couldn't have him. When Troy said they should have some wine and celebrate their reunion, Nora reminded him that the last time they had wine, he had poisoned her with it. He got angry and said that was his twin brother, Collin. Not him. He was the nice one.
Hearing that Troy had escaped, Bo was worried about Nora and called her. She told Troy if she didn't answer it, Bo would know something was wrong. (Why didn't she just keep her mouth shut?) Nora picked up the phone and told Bo everything was fine. Bo sensed something and told her to tell him she loved him if Troy was there. So she did. This only made Troy that much more angry. But, knowing that Bo was on the way, Nora said maybe they should have wine, telling Troy they had plenty of time without being interrupted. She talked of the food they had ordered in the past. She kept telling him to relax, they could talk of old times, make plans, celebrate. Troy was sitting very close, hanging on every word.
The episode ended with Todd kissing Blair on the neck and leaving. On the inside of the door, Blair swallowed hard. Outside, Todd looked reluctant to leave, but buoyed by their talk.
