From the prison breakout site, John ordered a car sent to the Buchanan residence. Then he turned to Mr. Evans and asked, "Are you sure that's Laurence?" Mr. Evans assured him that they had Mitch Laurence in custody. He was wearing a special badge which identified him. John pulled off the bandages on the man in custody and Mr. Evans gasped. It was one of his guards!
Meanwhile, Mitch was at Llanfair, with a gun on Clint. He was ready to kill two birds with one bullet: Clint and Stacy. (Stacy had betrayed him long ago because she wasn't carrying his child, she was carrying the gay police man, Fish's.) Natalie begged him not to kill Clint. She'd do anything. Anything?
When John arrived at Llanfair, Mitch had left with Natalie and Clint was on the floor. Vicki came down the stairs, happy the lights were on, in her silk pjs, only to find Clint and John, but no Natalie. She asked after Clint's well being, obviously worried about him.
Mitch and Natalie ended up in a church where Mitch was preaching his call, "Heed the Messenger." And incanting about a new year, a new page. But, he wondered where his flock had gone. He would need to rebuild it, but first he had a call to make.
At Llanfair, the nurse was checking out Clint. She insisted they go to the Study so she could get a good blood pressure reading and Vicki agreed. The phone rang and Vicki answered it, putting it on speaker phone, thinking it was Natalie, but it was Mitch. John wanted to know if Natalie was okay, sounding very much like a concerned husband. He wanted to talk to her. Mitch put her on the phone. She said she was fine, but asked after her Dad. When she found out he was okay, she said, we're in a church, but Mitch pulled the phone away before she could say anything else. Mitch, referring to Natalie's job as a forensic specialist, said she'd know the kind of damage to her brain his gun could do. That shut her up for a bit.
"Laurence, you touch her and I'll kill you," John said. Mitch assured him that he'll never find him, he had disabled the GPS on Natalie's phone. John told Mitch that "only cowards take hostages." Mitch didn't much care what John thought and told Vicki she could have her daughter back as soon as he got his. Vicki said she wasn't going to give him Jessica. Mitch promised to call back in an hour with instructions. Vicki had to choose between Jessica and Natalie. (Seems to me, she had to make that choice before . . . )
Clint walked into the drawing room, hearing Mitch's request and said, "No Deal." Vicki kept saying there had to be another way. Jessica was listening outside the door. She came in and said Mitch could have her, because it was the only way to save Natalie. The parent's of course objected to that. John even agreed that it wouldn't be a good idea for Jessica to get involved. No, Jessica kept insisting they were not going to sacrifice Natalie for her. Mitch would kill Natalie if John showed up without her. They had to use her as bait. Vicki argued what John had said, that Mitch is out of power and has no options. They would find him and bring Natalie back. Jess said it wouldn't work.
Despite Vicki's protests, Jessica said she knew how Mitch operated now and she was stronger, she could do it, she needed to do it. He had to see her. Mom and Dad couldn't tell her no, but John could. John looked like he wanted to keep her out of it, but on the other hand, Jessica did have a point, and in the end if he got Natalie back . . . Seemed he was left with the deciding vote.

Meanwhile, at the church, Mitch asked Natalie if she was trying to say something. Natalie struggled with him while he tried to take her gag off. She spewed about how he'd do anything to get what he wanted, included break commandments. Mitch agreed, and said he also be happy to kill her if that got him what he wanted. Natalie wanted to know why he wanted Jessica, anyway? To created his evil spawn? No, Mitch wanted to make amends to her so his followers would see that he'd changed and come back to him. Natalie didn't buy it. Mitch told Natalie she couldn't call him on his past since she had some bad things, too. He read a passage in the Bible to her about how misdeeds would come back to get her. Natalie agreed that she wasn't perfect, after all she did to Jessica. But at least she wasn't using it to "prop up" her "so-called career as a man of God." Was she boring Mitch? He was distracted. The hour was magically up and Mitch called asking if he was going to get his daughter.
Bo came crashing through his front door, but no one was there. He told the cops to canvass the area, someone must have seen Nora. (Not sure how he's ordering them around, as he is only a civilian now.) Then he heard a knock on the patio door. It was Lindsay Rappaport. Lindsay told him she had a bad feeling about Troy. Bo thought she was in it with him. Lindsay said she was just warning him. She'd risked everything to get there and tell him of her suspicions. Bo thought she was just distracting him from finding Nora; he just didn't trust her. Did she know what Troy's plans were? No. Did she have any idea where he was? No. Lindsay said he was acting funny when she saw him in the library, reading a book, and she figured it had something to do with Nora. What? Bo asked. She didn't know. Lotta help, Lindsay. Really good thing you broke out of jail to tell Bo what he already knew.
Lindsay told Bo that Troy seemed nervous. Said he would be with Nora soon, but then "back pedaled" and said he had a parole date coming up in a year and hoped Nora would be there. Bo was getting frustrated. What was Troy reading in the library? An electrician's manual. Hmm. Bo asked if there was something Lindsay might have missed. Lindsay went on about how she had accepted Bo and Nora together and was that the wedding gift she sent them? (It looked like a PA license plate that said Bo and Nora on it. How cute. Did she make it?) But, she said, Troy hadn't accepted them and talked of how he and Nora and Matthew would be a family again. Bo thought that might be a clue he could use to help find Nora.
Troy led Nora, blindfolded and hands tied together, into a house. A lovely place, with a great view, deep in the woods. "Our own little world," Troy said. A place they could be together for the rest of their lives. Nora pointed out that she was not a "nature kinda gal." Troy assured her that they had all winter to stay inside and talk. "It's been a long time," Troy kept saying. He asked if he could have a another chance. Nora said sure, but Troy didn't believe her
Nora told Troy that she cherished her memories of him. He was kind, thoughtful and gentle. She wanted him to accept what she had to say. She padded it well and moved into it slowly, but said she was most definitely in love with Bo. She reiterated that she and Troy could not be together. Troy kept insisting that the only reason she was with Bo was because Troy was in prison. In prison for the things he did to her. Troy said he was back now and they could start over. He was going to prove to her they belonged together.

Troy was looking for a floor board that would pull up. Nora assured him she would vouch for him, let him start a new life. Troy wasn't interested, he could have paradise with her right there. Not like this, Nora stressed, since he had her there against her will. Troy extracted a bag hidden under the floor boards, saying he had everything he needed. Nora asked what was in the bag? Drugs? Troy was appalled. He loved her. If he loved her, Nora tried, why didn't he let her go?
Troy dug in his bag while Nora kept saying it wasn't going to happen between them. Nora had put her life back together after her time with Troy and had fallen in love with Bo again. They were a family and "nothing would make her forget her husband." Troy said she might and held up a hypodermic needle. It was a drug.
When the doorbell rang at La Boulet, little Sam opened the door, asking James if he knew what time it was?
In the Cabana, Cole wanted Starr to stay and talk. Starr said there was nothing else for them to say. Cole thought there was a lot to say, but Starr had to check on Hope and told him it would have to wait.
When Starr came back in the house, she told Sam to go back to bed and asked James what he was doing there. With Starr's back to him, James told her there was prison break. When she turned around he asked if she heard from Cole. Sam was on the steps listening to everything they were saying.
Cole, still in the Cabana was looking at Starr's phone and saw a picture of her with James. This propelled him out of his seat and out the door, only to find Sam with his fancy looking water pistol/gun thing. Hands up, Sam shouted. Cole asked if he remembered him. Sam did, but said he was supposed to be in jail. Cole invited him into the Cabana. Sam told him, no funny stuff, but he would come in and talk to him. Cole explained that sometimes there were things that were more important than following the rules. (Great lesson, Cole.) Sam told Cole that John McBain had deputized him, so he had to bring him in. Cole said he just wanted to spend some with his daughter.
Back in the house the doorbell rang. James said it might be Cole. He wouldn't ring the bell, Starr said, although he had. It was the cops, asking if they'd seen Cole. Starr tried to tell them that he wouldn't come to see her. And that her daughter was asleep upstairs. The cops said they had to search and promised to be quiet.
While the police were searching the house, Starr was pacing, and James asked if she was nervous. Nervous? Her? No way. (Just because there were police traipsing through the house and 200 criminals had escaped. Why should she be nervous?) The police came down the steps and said they'd found nothing and her daughter was still sleeping. Starr opened the door to let them out, asking them to let her know if they found Cole, because her daughter would want to know. But they were not finished searching the grounds. When they headed outside, James asked her what was going on? Something was off. He asked her point blank, did she know where Cole was? Starr retorted that would be lying to the cops. Was he kidding? James said this would not be the first time.
When the police broke into the Cabana they found Sam asking them not to shoot. They asked him who he was talking to and he said, "The bad guy." But the police ignored it and shooed him off to bed. As Sam left the Cabana, he turned around and gave Cole the thumbs up.
James had to go. (Not sure where or why. Check on his mom, maybe.) He told Starr he loved her and that if Cole showed up, she should call the cops. After he left, Starr and Sam sat on the steps. Sam remarked that they'd lied to the cops, even though they aren't supposed to lie. Starr said just this one time. Sam told her Cole said it was important to keep this secret. Yes, it was, Starr assured him. Just for this one time. Keep it a secret. Especially from James. Sam said he got it. (This kid is something!)
In the Cabana, Starr told Cole she had to lie to James and the cops and tell Sam it was okay to do that. Cole had to go back to prison. She was going to check on Hope. But Cole held her back and said he loved her. Starr said Cole was just grateful and that was fine. Cole said, no, he loved her and he'd never stopped. He brought her to him and kissed her.
James came back to the house and seemed to use a key to get in. Finding Sam still up, he asked where Starr was. Sam said it was a secret. James wanted to know what the secret was. Sam, wisely pointed out that if he told him, it would not be a secret. He had to keep the secret, especially from James.
