Todd had so many nay votes against him it's really a miracle he managed to get this pardon. When Rebecca came to see him he had just gotten his heart wrapped up safely behind his wall deciding no one but teh kids cared for him. Now here was Rebecca rubbing salt on his open wound. He's so afraid to care and tries to send her away and then she convinces him that she believes he should be free. You feel it all, from the looks in his eyes to the sound of his voice, you know this man wants something good to finally come his way, but he's been disappointed so many times in his life, he doesn't think it will happen. ON the other hand you hear all the people who hate Todd putting in their two cents woth why he couldn't possibly have changed and he should remain in prison no matter what. You want to scream at them, go talk to the guy. Give him a chance. but you know they wont's their mindsa are the ones locked in the past. Unfortunately for Todd, he'll face that time and again if he gets out and he knows it. You can hear it in his voice he really feels noone will ever care enough for him to help him.
ReplyDeleteRoger is amazing the way he shows so much on his face: the anger, the fear, the loneliness, the neediness. It still bothers me that Powell is running around free. One of the things, I think, we love so much about Todd is the soft inner layer. Rebecca sees the good in him, so did Blair and Starr and Tea. He's certainly not all bad. I thought it was funny that everyone was badmouthing him as Karena pointed out, talking about how they're going to stop him from getting this pardon, when he didn't want it himself. I'm glad, now, he's willing to fight for his freedom. All he needed was a little encouragement, to know that some one cares.
