John McBain is back in Port Charles to investigate the deaths of Cole and Hope. He bantered with Dante who, as usual, seemed to be slow on the uptake. John was in fine form, sparring back at Dante’s insistence that he was too close to the matter and should go back to Llanview. John easily pointed out that the same could be said of him being Sonny Corinthos’ son. John knew everything about Dante’s history. Dante asked if he was fascinated with Sonny or did he have a history with him? John said he did have history. When he was in the Bureau, Sonny was in Atlantic City causing trouble. There was some mention of Todd Manning and how he would pay for what he did. And Dante pointed out that Cole was supposed to be dead already. How did he end up in a car wreck in Port Charles? John responded that “life’s a car wreck.” He was only concerned with who was responsible for running that car off the road. Dante kept trying to get John to go home. John left the station, saying he was going to hang around awhile and asking if they validated parking.
After John left, Dante finally decided he might do some research on the guy. What kind of detective is he, anyway? John did his homework.
There was an interesting scene with Sonny and Michael. Sonny was worried about Jason, Michael about Starr. Seems like Robin’s funeral was the same day as Cole and Hope’s. Michael had a tablet showing The Sun. Sonny made some nasty comment about how awful it was of Todd to put the funeral on the cover. He went on to say something like Todd Manning has money and power and feels entitled to do whatever he wants. Sounds a whole lot like Sonny Corinthos to me.
A few other points:
Jason seems to be taking Robin’s death hard, now that Carly told him. He was very angry at Sam. Funny that he still has a full head of hair after brain surgery and I never saw him out of his black T Shirt. I wonder if they operated on him with it still on.
I like Connie much better than Kate. Connie showed up, knocking at Johnny’s door, while Carly was there. It was Carly who opened the door.
Anna was at Jake’s drinking, when Luke joined her, but did not drink.
Maxi, wheeled into the hospital from her spoiled fit at Robin’s funeral, confessed to killing Lisa Niles.
Noah Drake arrived at Patrick’s door.
John, for some reason, wandered into the church where Sam was crying after fighting with Jason. John put a hand on her shoulder. Sam looked around and said, “I know you, don’t I?” John didn’t think so. When he told her his name, she didn’t recognize it. There was something in his eyes . . .
