Pay Back Time, Friday, March 9, 2012

If you missed this episode, I highly recommend watching it. There was excellent dialog in both scenes. You will also find a bit of police station drama and courtroom proceedings with Sonny. But, I swear, I can’t look at Kate Howard any more. She has such a horrible, haunted look, it freaks me out.

But, at the hospital, Starr had her hands over her face when Blair arrived with flowers. Mother and daughter had an interesting talk. Blair tried to be cheery and revive Starr from her misery, as most of us would. (I think Todd’s tactics worked better for Starr. He’s, no doubt, had a lot more therapy than Blair.) Starr told her mom to stop trying to make her feel better when she’s not ready. Starr explained that her dad had been by to see her the day before and he hadn’t done that. Blair was furious. They had a back and forth until Starr said, in no uncertain terms, that she believed her father. Her mom was concerned that Todd would go after Sonny. He was already blaming him as a “Baby Killer” on the front of The Sun. Starr said she didn’t care. She knew her dad could take care of himself and If Sonny killed her family, he should be punished. Blair said she didn’t want Starr to become like her Dad, always seeking revenge. It was touching, but Starr remained firm. When Blair stepped out of the room, Starr did some checking and found out that Michael was Sonny’s son. When Michael came to see if she needed anything, it wasn’t certain if she’d let him in or not.

Carly was looking at a newspaper article on a tablet which told of Sonny’s arraignment, when Todd came in saying it was “Pay Back Time.” He meant that he needed to pay her back for all her help. Carly asked about Starr. Todd said her life had been shattered and he was going to make it right. They got to talking about “mag rags” of which Todd is intimately familiar. Todd admitted that since he was trying to keep a low profile, he would like Carly to tell the cops about Sonny Cor-in-thus. (I love the way he always says it differently.) Carly informed Todd that the cops already knew and that “Sonny” was being arraigned. Todd asked why she spoke of him that way. Carly said she was intimately familiar with him, that he was her ex-husband. Todd got angry with her for not telling him. But, as Carly pointed out, the cops were always looking to get Sonny on something, whether he was guilty or not. She admitted he could be, but there was, as of yet, no proof. Carly assured him that if Sonny was guilty, he’d pay for it. Todd made some sarcastic remark, as he left, about being able to go home now, knowing he would get justice.

Looking for a drink, Blair ended up at the Metro Court bar, even though it wasn’t open. Carly was there doing some work and offered to give her a drink on the house. Blair said she was looking for Todd Manning. Carly didn’t know anyone by that name. Blair said she’d know him, he had a scar. Carly replied, oh yeah, but he left. Blair gave her the speech about how dangerous Todd is and informed her that he was going after someone named Sonny Corinthos.

In the last scene, Todd walked into the Courtroom, with a gun trained on him and asked if he was Sonny Corrinthus. (You’ve met your match, Sonny!)
