Tea thought it best that John not know what Todd was up to. John thought the best way to go about Starr’s case was to discredit Michael. Tea agreed, but sighed, put her feet up and said Starr wouldn’t let her. Then she wanted to know what was up between John and Sam. John explained they kept running into each other and had formed a friendship. Tea wasn’t buying it. She said there was more to it. Tea thought John wanted to rescue Sam. John replied he was making things worse for her. (Sam and John are good, but I still really like Tea and John and would like to see that played out.)
Starr ran into Michael at the police station. She didn’t know he could be so cold. Michael said he wasn’t going to perjure himself, no matter what Starr’s dad wanted. Starr didn’t know. It wouldn’t be fair to say she was shocked. Maybe mildly surprised and disappointed. Starr said that staying out of things was not something her father did well. Starr tried to convince Michael that she wanted her life, now. She knew all she had and she didn’t want to go to prison.
Meanwhile, it looks like Johnny is on his way out – he confessed to Anthony that he shot out the tires and tried to pin it on Sonny. When that didn’t work, he went to Kate, brought out Connie and explained to her how good it would be for her cause if she confessed to shooting out the tires. He shot Anthony, twice, in the process. Maybe Anthony’s going, too.
Todd told Carly that Michael has no compassion. Carly argued that Michael was just protecting his father. How could one little girl be a threat to a mob boss? Todd wanted to know. Todd and Carly had to agree that they loved their children and neither would stay passive when it came to their kids. Carly said if he wanted to mess with Michael, he’d have to come through her. Todd could certainly say the same thing about Starr. He assured Carly he didn’t want to hurt her son. But he smiled broadly and said he didn’t think she would deliberately hurt someone, not unless she had to. He told her he respected her. And admitted that people usually had a problem with him. Carly had to confess the same. Todd told her that he heard Connie shot out the tires which caused the accident, but he told Sonny if Michael would take back his statement, Todd would make the charges against Kate go away. Didn’t he want justice? Carly wanted to know. Todd didn’t care, as long as Starr was out of jail.
They started to talk about Johnny and Carly told Todd that a friend had helped her to see she hadn’t always been completely honest in other relationships. Todd hoped she did forgive Johnny. It would give him hope for guys like him. (Sigh!) Todd offered to walk her back to the hotel so he could get a burger. Carly confessed that Kelly’s burgers were way better.
In the montage at the end, Todd and Carly came out of Kelly’s, laughing and finishing up fries. They are two of a kind . . .
