No Todd. Sigh . . .
In Paris, Texas, Rex laid into "Stacy", telling her to go to hell and other such insults. He brought up that even her dear friend Kim thought her idea was crazy. Going on and on about all the rotten things Stacy did to him and to Gigi. Poor Gigi just stood there looking sad. When she did speak, she kept saying, "I never meant to . . . " Rex just railed at her for having Gigi's voice. (How did that happen?) And wondered if she really thought she'd get away with this plan of hers. Gigi said, "I'm not that woman, I'm not Stacy." Who are you? Rex wanted to know. Gigi confessed she didn't know. She had felt like the Bonjour was familiar and she had this vision of Shane. After some back and forth, Gigi being Gigi, having her voice, looking so much like her (doing her make up like Gigi . . . ) Rex started to fall into it. He touched her face. She said she was going to leave him alone, but she had one question.
Back in Llanview, in Todd's office at the Sun, Jack wined on to Neela about how sorry he was. He wondered if he could trust her to let it "stay in this room," if he told her. I have to say I liked this kid much better when he's not being a brat. He kept talking of the weight he was carrying. He needed to talk to someone, but then Neela would have to carry it. Rather noble, but still, he ended up telling her everything. He said he was a bad person. I don't think so. Just not a very good actor. Jack told her all about how Victor had paid off the other kid's dad so he went to jail. Jack was convinced his Dad died because of what Jack had done to Gigi. I spent most of the time he was on screen trying to figure out why I cringe every time I see him. I never believe him, for one. He doesn't show his emotion well. He seems to be straining. Maybe if he acquires some confidence he'll get better. Neela ended up hugging him. When Jack went to wash his face (?), Neela checked her recorder as Shane was calling her. Would she tell what she knew? Share the recording?
When Shane got home to the mansion, Aubrey was there to surprise them. But Dad wasn't with him. Shane didn't know when he'd be home, so Shane had other plans to spend Christmas with Vicki. After all poor Aubrey had done . . . Aubrey would just spend Christmas with Rama. They talked a bit about Christmas and where Rex was and what Shane was up to. He told Aubrey it helped him to be in Texas, to say goodbye to his Mom. He wasn't sure his Dad was ready though. Not until Shane could deliver her killer. Aubrey suggested that Shane might want resolution for himself more than his Dad. She also asked Shane what he was going to do if Neela didn't come through for him. Aubrey was so good with him, so kind, gentle and understanding. I don't know where Aubrey acquired these skills. She seems just like Katie now (from ATWTs). At least Shane can stand up to her as an actor.
Kim was at Llanfair pressuring Clint to commit to her. What do you say, Cowboy? Do we belong together? She called Vicki a prison warden. And talked of Clint just being there because it's familiar. Come the new year, he'd be "looking for some new tinsel."
Vicki was outside the door for some of their conversation until David showed up and asked if she was okay. Vicki wanted him to get her out of there. Vicki and David went to Angel Square and had a long talk. David told her he thought it was a gift that she saw that kiss. She didn't need horrible Uncle Clint. David kept pausing to record notes on possible movie scenarios. He was delightful as always. He suggested it was Stockholm Syndrome - that it had something to do with Vicki holding Clint hostage at her house. David even told Vicki she could have him as he gratuitously removed his shirt. Here in Angel Square? What would Dorian say? But it was only to show her the Chipmunk tattoo on his back. The Chipmunk "spoke" to Vicky through David's toothy speeches, telling her to give up on Clint, to find someone else, to make another plan.
After Vicki left with David, Clint, of course, said Kim's kisses were great, but he was in love with Vicki. He convinced her that it was over. But, he said, he knew she'd be okay. What were her plans? Kim seemed to take it well, and said she was off to find Cutter and Stacy. As I've said, I think Kim and Clint are an interesting couple, far more exciting and fun than Clint and Vicki. Still, with the show ending, what must be, must be. The idea of Kim off on an adventure sounds like a better future for her than being pinned down with a jailed husband. (He could live with her, she said. Like that was going to happen.) Kim asked Clint what he was going to do if Vicki turned him down. I suspect, after years of being in business, Clint was used to a little risk.
Quick flashes of Aubrey, sorting through the three stockings which read, Shane, Rex, and Gigi. And Clint, writing a note "To Vicki, All My Love, Clint," tucking it onto a small square box and putting it under the tree.
Back in Texas, at the airport, when Cutter returned, he found the Professor was sitting where Gigi had been. He asked Professor Delphini if he'd seen this girl, holding out his phone. But the Professor lost his glasses again, only to have Cutter retrieve them from the Professor's head. Yes, yes he did see her. Where did she go, Cutter demanded. The Professor, absentmindedly, tried to put Cutter's phone in his pocket, but Cutter retrieved it. The Professor spoke to Cutter of karma and balance and that he should let her go.
At the Bonjour, Gigi asked Rex why this place felt so much like home to her. Rex shouted at her that Stacy was never in Texas, so she must have been stalking her all those years. He was shaking her shoulders and telling her never to go near his son, when Cutter showed up. Cutter made him stop and announced he had something to say. Something they both needed to hear.
I'm not sure if it's my imagination or not. But there seems to be a new pace to the shows. Without that air of forever about the stories, there appears to be an urgency that's disturbing.
