Cutter called Kim from prison. He wanted a favor. Yeah, right. Kim wanted to know where Stacy was. Cutter told her the truth about Stacy. Kim, of course, didn’t believe him. He said she could check with the plastic surgeon, who said Gigi had no scars. It was her face. You just can’t argue with that. Kim was not happy about it. Cutter told her that Stacy’s plan got messed up and she was the one who got gassed. Kim was crushed to have lost Stacy again. Poor girl. Kim thought it was her fault – she should’ve stopped her. Cutter assured her that anyone who was willing to go that far could not be stopped. Kim cried that she had no one. Cutter said she had him. Fat lot of good that did her! Cutter apologized and waxed on about what a good team they had once been. Cutter wanted Kim to break him out. “I’m too pretty for prison,” he said. He had a plan. Kim reminded him that he had her locked up. Cutter told her he found a big score. A woman who had her own island: their mother. His next call was to his mother.
At the police station, Gigi asked Jack, “Have you seen a ghost?” His was more like a blank expression, but that’s our Jack. He thought it was a joke. No, Gigi said. She was going to finish what she started and “kick his scrawny ass!” She is something.
Clint greeted Vicki as she returned home. She had to go to the office on Christmas Day to report on Jack’s arrest. She mused that she wished he wasn’t such a Manning. Clint pointed out that their kids weren’t killers. Accept for their altars, of course. Vicki reminded Clint of his own criminal past and that of his father. Should she give up on Jack? Clint was worried that she’d dumped him after one day. She told him, if she had, he’d have no where to go. Clint was relieved. After all he’d done to convince her he didn’t have feelings for “K” (aka Kim), unwilling to even say her name. They embraced and professed their love for each other. But Vicki said she loved her family, too. She agreed, though, that Jack needed to face the consequences. Gigi, who was like a sister to her, deserved justice.
Shane returned to Llanfair and Vicki and Clint wanted to know here he’d been. He said he’d been at the police station. Something about Jack? No . . . he presented Gigi. Vicki, of course, was overjoyed. Hugging Gigi, she told her how happy she was to see her, but looked over her shoulder at Shane.
Todd was convinced that someone put Neela up to trapping Jack. She couldn’t have done it on her own. Blair wanted to concentrate on helping jack. Todd thought they should look to Jack’s enemies. Like Rex. As he remembered, Rex was a not a nice person. Blair thought they should let Tea build a case. Todd thought they should fire her. She had too much on her plate. And she’d been so hostile to him. Blair stuck up for her and Todd wanted to know what was up between them? They’d been there for each other in all they’d been through, Blair explained. And they had grown up. (That was a nice way to put it.) Blair left to see to Sam and Todd started to remember all the times Tea had been hostile to him. (I guess he was preoccupied with other things to notice before.) There were many such scenes. He realized she knew he’d killed Victor. He thought John must have found out and told her. “Not now!” he said, “Not when I’m so close.” He threw something against the wall as Blair came into the room, telling him Dorian would be pissed at him. He covered it by saying he didn’t want to lose Jack. He thought Victor had done “a real number on him.” Todd wondered if he was beyond repair. Blair said he was not. He needed a father who believed in him. (They were so cute, on the floor, cleaning up what Todd had broken. He sat back and then instinctively pulled Blair to sit next to him on the floor. They are so smooth together.) Todd wanted to know what to do. Blair assured him that being there was all. Eventually Jack would see him for who he really is. Who’s that? Todd wanted to know. A father who loves his son. “You stand beside Jack and I’ll stand beside you.” So sweet!
With Rex, Aubrey babbled again. You’re having thoughts, right? It’s about Gigi. You’re not ready to let her go. No, he said, I’m not. Because she’s alive. Aubrey tried to say it was Stacy. But Rex assured her. He wondered if Cutter knew. Aubrey said she had heard from Cutter, asking for her help, but she had hung up on him. Cutter couldn’t “become a law-abiding citizen.” Not like Rex . . . But she understood, with tears in her eyes, that she had to say goodbye to Rex. Rex felt bad for Aubrey. She said it was okay. She had realized that there were good guys out there. Go, she said, be with your family. Rex took off. After a brief look back, Aubrey left the mansion. (Locking up behind her, I’m assuming.)
Natalie and John met at the station. Awkwardly, they said hello and John asked about her Christmas. She went on about pictures of Liam on “My Face.” John said he didn’t do My Face – of course. Natalie reminded him she had set up an account for him. Still stiff, they acknowledged that they hadn’t yet talked. Natalie understood he had his hands full.
“Oh my God!” Natalie saw Gigi. After they had all hugged, John went back to work and Gigi and Natalie talked. Where was Rex? He had some loose ends to tie up. (Natalie must have known what.) Gigi remembered that Liam was John’s son and thought for sure Nat and John had gotten back together. Natalie told her they’d gotten their “wires crossed,” and hadn’t had a chance to talk about it. Gigi thought there was nothing to say, but I love you. Gigi warned her not to waste time, to get John back. Natalie encouraged Gigi to go “have her happily ever after” and thanked her for the advice.
Back in John’s office, Jack was overjoyed. Shane’s mom was alive and he didn’t kill her. He hugged Tea who agreed this was good news for everyone. John came back in and told them Jack was not out of the woods yet. (I wonder, can you be accused of killing someone who is already dead?) Tea thought the case should be dropped. John said he was going to let Nora decide. Tea reiterated that there was no case against Jack. The fact is, John said, Jack locked Gigi in that basement. With everything he’d done, he had a price to pay.
As he was leaving the station with Tea, Jack said to Gigi, he was glad she was okay. That he never meant for anyone to get hurt and he was very sorry. Gigi wasn’t buying it.
John ran into Natalie again. “What a weird, wild day,” he said. “Do you want a drink?” Natalie didn’t fancy a drink, but thought maybe they could talk. Just then an officer walked up and said, “We have a situation.” It would have to be later. Natalie asked what he was doing for New Year’s Eve and they made a date.
Todd thanked Blair for talking sense into him. But he still wanted to fire Tea. Right then she walked in with Jack. No, she’s not fired. She told them Jack was charged with unlawful imprisonment. But he was not a murderer!
Reunited at Llanfair, the Morasco/Balsom family were hugging, while Vicki and Clint looked on. They were all going to toast Gigi’s return, when Rex told them to wait. He had to finish what he started. Gigi asked, are you proposing? Well, yes he was, but he had no ring. Hold on Clint said, who just happened to have a ring. It was his mother’s. But he wanted to give it to Rex to give to the woman he loves.
Rex got down on his knees and said, “It’s taken way too long to get here.” Yes indeed. “Will you . . .” Before he finished, Gigi yes, and they kissed.
