Starr came to the hospital to see Rick and find out why he hadn't signed the document Todd's lawyers had sent him. It said he would give Starr back the rights to her music and drop the charges. “Good morning Star shine,” Rick called as she walked in. But it was the afternoon.
Rick told her he wasn't going to give her up. He knows "It” when he sees it, and Starr has "it," she's oozing it and he was not going to let that go. The Mannings are a “PR Goldmine.” Starr wanted it to be about the music. But Rick liked the Mannings. They get in trouble all the time. Like Jack's arrest. They could use that.
Rick agreed to drop the lawsuit but he was keeping the contract. He was going to make Starr a star. It was an iron clad contract, anyway. There was no way out of it. Rick took her hand and said her career was in his hands. Starr said, yeah, I'm a bad girl and bent his fingers back. “If you ever touch me again,” she said, “I'll break your legs.” You go, girl!
Rick is so funny. He called her Star Wars. Then he showed her the edited version of “Jail Bait.” I have to say, I didn't much like it. Maybe I still think of Starr as a little girl. But to me it was rap porn. Starr had her hand over her mouth in shock when it finished.
Rick said he was not going to take a onetime payment for all he could make on her. “No one ever went broke underestimating the tastes of the American public,” Rick declared. He was going to be a household name and Starr was going to take him there. Starr was not backing down!
Aubrey got Rama’s text and wanted to know what was wrong and what she could do to help. Rama told her about Neela. Aubrey sheepishly said she already knew. Rama wondered why she had sworn herself to secrecy to a teenager. They both agreed Neela did the right thing. Jack should be locked up for what he did to Gigi. But Rama felt Neela was going to have to pay a price for it.
Aubrey told Rama that Rex was on the way home. But she felt there was something off, something he wasn't telling her. Rama pointed out that of course he would seem off, he missed Christmas, the first Christmas without Gigi. Aubrey couldn't wait to see him! Rama encouraged her to call Rex.
Neela was at the jail to see Jack. Jack was convinced the cops bugged Todd's office. (At least he's calling him Todd now.) Jack didn't think Neela did anything wrong, but she might need a lawyer because she was an accessory and didn’t tell what she knew. She told him she did tell. Jack didn't understand. She recorded it? Why? She wanted him to confess for Shane, because he asked her. Neela didn't think it was true. She almost didn't give it to him. She told him how sorry she was. She felt sorry for Shane. Didn't convince me.
Jack screamed, "How could you do that to me?" (They've known each other, what, 5 minutes?) He told her to leave. "Get out you back stabbing bitch! Get away from me!" The best acting I've ever seen from him.
Upstairs, Tea and John were talking in his office. Tea said this was entrapment, but John told her Neela did it. Tea didn’t believe that since she likes Jack. But Shane asked for her help, John added.
Outside John's office, Todd and Blair were hugging. Blair pushed away and wondered what they were going to do. Somebody set him up, Todd said. “Nobody gets away with doing that to my family. I’ll find out who tricked our son and I’ll . . . “ Tea and John walked out of the office. “What will you do, Todd?” Tea asked. “Kill whoever did it?” I bet John was poking her on the back side. Todd wondered if she thought he could kill someone. What’s your problem with me, he wanted to know. Blair changed the subject and asked what they were going to do. Todd wanted to know who made the tape. Tea and John thought the content of the tape was more important. Tea finally told them it was Neela. Todd was furious. She set up Jack on Todd's dime!
Blair wanted to focus on Jack. This can't be legal. It's a full confession in the defendant's own words, Tea assured them. It's bad. Tea said she could reduce the sentence if he showed remorse. But because of his bullying he could be facing a murder charge. Should he have to pay with his life? Blair asked. Like Gigi did, John remarked. McBain, stay out of it, Tea said and took charge. She would get Jack arraigned and see about bail. She needed to talk to Jack alone. She assured Blair she'd call her. So Todd walked Blair out.
Rama found Neela in tears. Neela was certain Jack hated her. Rama said she couldn’t know that for sure. Neela told her she did. She confessed she had gone to see him. Jack’s reaction had made her feel it was all her fault. Rama told her that whatever happened to Jack was his own fault. Actions have consequences. (Is that so?) Neela said she only did it because Shane threatened to kill himself. (Not sure why she didn’t tell Jack that. Maybe she just thought of it.)
Todd and Blair walked up to Rama and Neela. “Look who's here, the police department’s newest little helper,” Todd laid into her, asking if she knew what she’d done. “In the country only a few days and already you’re a model American,” he added. Rama politely ushered Neela away. Blair put her hand on Todd and then hugged him.
At Llanfair, Shane had seen Gigi for the first time. He was in shock, saying this couldn’t be real. Gigi assured him it was. “Look at your hair,” Gigi said. (I agree.) “Can you see?” she asked him. Good call. Shane wanted to know where she’d been. They all sat to talk and Gigi explained everything. She told him that at Halloween her heart remembered him, but her brain didn't. Gigi wanted to know everything that had happened to Shane since she'd been gone, everything he thought about. Mostly, he thought about getting Jack to pay. “You're alive!” Shane said, standing up. Rex chucked and said he kept doing that, too. No, Shane said, she's alive. Jack didn't kill her. He told them Jack was in jail and he put him there. After they congratulated him for doing that, Gigi said the right thing to do was go to the police.
On their way out, Rex saw that it was Aubrey calling. He wasn’t going to answer it. Shane offered to start the car. When he’d left, Gigi asked Rex about Aubrey. She wondered if he forgot about her when he was with Aubrey. No, he said. But it was easier. “Do you have feelings for her?” Gigi wanted to know. If he did, he assured her, they disappeared as soon as he found her. Gigi understood, he thought she was dead. “You’re it for me, Morasco,” Rex said. Those two kiss well! Gigi encouraged Rex to talk to Aubrey, in person. She and Shane would go to the police station and meet up with him later. Rex called Aubrey and asked if they could meet at his house. (Does Gigi know they’re living in the mansion?)
Aubrey arrived early at the mansion, letting herself in with her key. She stood in front of the mantel. She took down Gigi's stocking and then put it back up. Rex walked in. Aubrey blathered on about the stocking and how she didn't know whether to put it up or not, but they thought about Gigi all the time and . . . Then she said she was happy to see him and hugged him. Rex said there was something he needed to tell her.
Back in John’s office, after sending for Jack, John closed the door and said nobody better lean on Neela or he’d hold Tea responsible. The office better not be bugged, Tea quipped back, as Jack was brought in. John left them alone and Tea asked Jack if he was okay. (Well, of course he isn't, he's in jail!) He looked upset. Jack brushed her off. Tea said she would do everything she could for him, play up the accidental death. (Look at all the people he has on his side!) He was there because of his “friend.” Tea told Jack he was not to say anything about or to Neela. She would try to keep the tape out of court. Just then Shane came into John's office and Jack saw Gigi.
